There's a rattling sound coming from my right side muffler whenever I shift gears. As I accelerate, the sound goes away. I looked at Ron Ayers and just the right side muffler is $314.26. That's a bit steep. Can it be repaired at a muffler shop? Is there an aftermarket muffler that is compatible? I already looked on ebay and there's nothing there.

Yeah, Vance & Hines makes a complete exhaust for not much more than Honda wants for that muffler. Plus, the performance increase is astounding! Search eBay
every day for awhile and a set will turn up.
You meet the nicest people on a Honda (forum).

I had the same problem... ended up being the baffle that came loose. I went with the OEM... that was pretty steep as well. Might want to see if anybody in this
forum still has the stock exhaust they would part with.

Go for the Vance & Hines , I have them and they are really great . It cost a little more than the replacement stock pipe , but really well worth it . I get
compliments everywhere I go . I took the bike in for a new inspection sticker a few weeks ago and the guy doing the inspection actually came back out and
returned my insurance paperwork and told me I had given him the wrong one . When I told him that was the correct paperwork , he just looked at me and said he
would have sworn that was a Harley and not a Honda . They really sound that good .
