Battery seemed to be dead; there was just enough power to light the lights; each time I hit the start switch, there was an audible "click" and the
lights went out; After waiting for about 30-45 seconds, the lights came back on. I called a trustworthy local shop, they said "there's enough left in
battery to power the lights, but each time you fire it up, all remaining juice is gone; then, the "surface" power in battery is just enought
to...." They suggested I try the jumper cable from the car, but "be sure to leave the car off" for this. I did as suggested, but, I
accidently rerversed the jumpers!! Forget the excuses, I just wasn't careful enough! and put the red on neg/black on pos on truck, & just opposite on
the bike; there was a very brief spark upon my touching the cable to the battery, then NOTHING.
What do you think I may have FRIED by this screwup? I did take the battery in to get it checked; yep, it was in fact dead.... ordered a new one then &
there....
I'm just afraid that when that new battery comes in, I may just find I FRIED something else....
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.... from an embarrassed Jeffyjak !
