I might not be able to ride it, but I for samned sure am interested in seeing it to see how truly original their design concept is. I think they have proven their ability to build a good bike now lets see if they can step to the plate and produce a real winner while keeping the price in reach of Joe Average working dude. I hope they do as I feel this nation could easily become the prime motorcycle manufacturer of the worl if they use their business sense and don't let the penny-pinchers take total control.

After seeing this there's no doubt Polaris' Victory division wants to be a player in the touring market. They are matching the best features of BMW, Honda, Yamaha and Harley luxury tourers. It will be an interesting shoot-out.
I like that the wheelbase is only a half-inch longer than the T's. Most luxury tourers are so long their cornering clearance is less than desired. I would like to ride one and see how Victory's new tourer handles. I think Victory is smart to go with a 6 gallon gas tank. Even if they only get 35 mpg that will give them a 200+ mile range which if the bike is as comfortable as Victory says it is, riders will want that capability. Victory's stylistic design seems to me to be on the edge of being too cute, kind of almost scooter-esque. It looks radically new, different and interesting now, but do you think it will hold up with time, or will the motorcycle public tire of it quickly? At minimum, it gives V-twin lovers another tourer option. For the long-legged riders, V-twins or V-fours are the only comfortable options. Fred |

OMG!
Where do I begin. This is, without a doubt, the ugliest motorcycle I have ever seen. It looks like some Dr. Frankenstein-like cross breeding of a Goldwing and an Ultra Classic. It is nothing less than a two-wheeled Edsel. I look at this bike and I can actually hear the sigh of relief coming from Milwaukee. BMW and 'Wing riders won't buy it cause it's a V-Twin (not to mention brand loyalty), hard-core biker types won't buy it cause it looks like a 'Wing. I don't know how many millions was spent on development, but they better have every single bug worked out from day one, because only top-shelf, Honda-like quality will save this from being the biggest motorcycle disaster of all time.

Is it Victory's Rune? It will take some time and actually seeing one on the road to give an honest opinion. Wonder what the Arlen Ness version will look like. In the meantime...

Alright ... give Victory some credit for not coming out with just another "me-too" cruiser style product. You have to be brave to break the mold.
I suspect they already know that the hard-core HD crowd is refusing to embrace Victory no matter what they build. Some people thought the HD folks were supporting HD because it was American made. But evidence is to the contrary. They are like a dog that is loyal to only one master. This bike will not threaten the cruiser market. But it certainly will challenge the Wing and BMW segment. Wings could use some good competition. - Rich |

Compared to a traditional cruiser/tourer one might say it's ugly. As a unique touring motorcycle I think they're on the right track. I like a lot of features which are still not available on a Goldwing or BMW. I think every touring bike with a fairing should have an adjustable windshield... put it down on the back roads and up on the freeway, during a short rain or in the evening. I also like the deflectors.
It looks like they might have one on display at the MC show in Cleveland. It will be on my 'need to sit on' list. Andy |

At first look I really hated it but the more I look at the bike the better it looks. Would I buy one? I don't know. I would like to ride one. Whether you like the bike or not, that is one cool website.

Hi All,
I saw this bike on Saturday at the National Bike Show in NYC. It is smaller then it looks in the video but it does grow on you. The modern look as Aero Space as they can get is cool, it would defiantly turn some heads as you go buy. I think that must be the look Polaris wanted. The instrument panel is small and it does have a radio. The mirrors are built into the fairing. The seat was good for comfort and for the passenger. Would I buy one, I think the Goldwing has it beat hands down with all its features. I'm still old school and like my Biker look the T has. If I ever make a change to a larger cruiser the Goldwing has my Vote. NYMark99 |

Well I just have to add my 2 cents worth, it's nice to see an american m/c manufacture can build a dressed up bike and still make it look like it's made from 1 mold. The g/w, u,c, and the voyager always looked to me like someone had a lot of plastic and gorilla glue laying around and tried to creat an suv posing as a m/c.
Just my opinion Jack WHEN IT ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY MUST BE DESTROYED OVERNIGHT, CALL THE MARINES. |

When I first saw it, I thought,"What is that"??????
After going back and looking several times, it is starting to grow on me. I like that V taillight! It's sure different, and that alone gives it a plus in my book! Rick The BIKE is why we came, the PEOPLE is why we stay!

I also agree that for an American MFG. they have done a nice job. It's the new vision of cruiser and will appeal to a certain rider.
Give it a few years for modications and refinement and it will be a major contender. I being of old school and a die hard Honda owner will stick to Goldwing or VTX series. Mark |

Re: Comparisons with bold auto moves | #15 | ||

What is the best comparison in the auto industry? Someone already mentioned the Edsel. But could it be like when Dodge redesigned their RAM pickup into the big ugly truck that significantly increased their market share? Or the ultimate concept car ... the AMC Pacer or (don't remind me of the car I once drove) the Gremlin .... which became extinct quickly.
I dunno, but I'd like to see one in person. Perhaps I'll make it to the show in Chicago in a few weeks. - Rich |

If you're going to stay in the cruiser genre and leave the engine exposed, the design should carry more classic lines. I think most of us like cruiser styling because it is "old school".
If I wanted new fangled, odd-looking but highly functional, it'd be a BMW R bike or a V-strom. When you try to marry the two ends of the spectrum, I guess you end up with this thing.... I'll wait until I see one live, but so far, I'm not liking it. duke |
