Well Glenn it looks like no one has had any experience with this helmet.
Congratulations on reaching 100 posts to the forum. If I told you I remembered hitting 100 posts I'd be lying. If I told you I remembered getting 1000 I'd be lying also. But it is all fun when your conversing with people you like and admire. Now lets get you started on 101.

#101 isn't a happy post. We've got 3-6" more snow today
, and I have the stomach flu .
This is depressing. Jesus will rock Planet Earth! (Revelation 6:12-17) Are you ready? |

I don't have the EXO-100 but I did purchase the EXO-200 about 6 weeks ago. I will say that I really do like it. It fits well handles wind well, is quiet
and I will say has had a few comments on how well it looks. I have a friend of mine that has a 700 and he really likes it. I believe all in all the Scorpion
helmets seem to be a good helmet for the money.

Thanks for the feedback, Dave.
Alain, glad you guys are on the mend, and soon headed for warmer climes. We're feeling better here, too - just in time for a fresh couple of inches today. Sigh... Still, God is in control, and I trust Him. Jesus will rock Planet Earth! (Revelation 6:12-17) Are you ready? |

I just noticed that Dennis Kirk carries a fan forced cooling FF helmet that keeps the shield from fogging, and your head cooler in the summer. It also has a
built in LED map light in the visor. Pretty cool features for us folks in the warmer climates. Here are the specs and link;
* DOT certified * Thermoplastic poly alloy shell with advanced aerodynamic design * State-of-the-art helmet featues a fully-integrated and rechargeable power system that runs fans located in the helmet?s chinbar to help keep face shield fog-free while continually circulating cool, fresh air around the helmet?s interior * Also features an ultrabright LED light (inset in helmet liner above the left eye) which can be used for convenient night-time utility or in situations where high visibility is desirable * Lightweight rechargeable 7.4 VDC 600mAh Lithium Ion power system with included wall charger; system lasts over 20 hours with normal usage with a full charge (system requires a charge time of 1 hour maximum) * Two miniature high-capacity fans circulate air inside the helmet: one draws in fresh air through the chin vent, and the other exhausts it through the side vents * Ultrabright 6000mcd LED that can be seen for almost a mile and lasts over 10,000 hours * Three highly durable and waterproof buttons located on chin bar: for intake, exhaust fan and LED light * Flush-fit chin and head vents * Single-screw, quick-release side cover shield * Removable/washable cheek pads and liner * Square-type D-ring with chin strap holder * Carrying bag included LINK> http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=3301043L&store=Main&catId=&productId=prod660527&leafCatId=&mmyId= Stan

Stan,
That's not a bad price for all those features. Are they quiet?

As with any helmet, I'll have to try one on in person. I have not done much research on them yet, but if there is a dealer nearby, then I'm going in
for a test fit. My gourd won't fit into just any old bucket. Here is a link for the company;

bamaTrider wrote: I have got to agree with you Stan. Two years ago I had decided to upgrade to a modular full face helmet. I was interested in the Zeus brand and had hoped
to find them at Americade, which I was able to do. I found a vendor who had some great deals on one year old helmets. I tried many before I found one that fit.
Then the dealer offered the current year model which I liked because there were more color choices. When I tried the current year model, same size as before,
it didn't fit. I had to go to a different size in the current year models than I had to for the one year older model.

First of all I'd like to apologize to the Rabbi for stealing his thread.
I went to check out the AFX helmet in person today. The dealer was not aware of the 2008 FX-11 Lightforce helmet yet. He was awed at all the features for such a low price, and about the built in cooling fans and LED map light. He offered to order one in my size and color to try on w/o obligation.........partly because he wanted to see it for himself. He thinks it will sell well here in the deep south for when the summer temps get back to near 100 again. I took him up on the offer and will get to try it out in about a week. Stan

I tried this helmet. Fits good. The most annoying part is ironically, what made it so attractive-namely the built in shield. It's notched at the bottom for
your nose and to me, that little notch is to high and in your field of view. It just draws your eyes to it.
I sent it back. |
