I have been looking for that same information all over the net for months and have come up with nothing. I wanted the info for an article I was going to put together for ACETOURER.COM. I wanted all manufacturing numbers for each year and units sold for each model year. I'm still looking.

It's possible that Honda Corp would provide that info. I know Colt Firearms will send you information about the exact day a specific serial number of gun was manufactered. They can also tell you how many of each type were made. Maybe Honda has a history department as well....

This might not be very scientific, but if we polled our members to look at their titles/registration, the last six digits are a number sequentially assigned at the factory. My '99 is 100894; and I believe it is safe to assume Honda did not make over 100,000 T in 1999; therefore I am assuming my bike was the 894'th made that year. Just a thought.

Maybe it's possible to determine if CleRider's theory holds up by seeing if there is any consistent pattern. The serial number tag on the steering column shows the bike's date of manufacture.
The manufacture date for my 2000 T is 6/99, and the last six digits of my serial number are 200373. - Pat |

CleRider's theory looks good. Keep em coming. Maybe we can at least get an estimate of how many were made each year. I guess this assumes that the production numbers are for the ACE Ts only, and do not include other models. Sound right?
Model year, month/year built, last six digits. Results so far: 1998 02/97 000367 Fredrider 1999 08/98 100754 texcritter 1999 ??/98 100818 fire fly medic 1999 ??/98 100894 CleRider 2000 06/99 200373 pwd67 2000 07/99 200780 steel46 2000 09/99 201491 Fastphred |

Re: Production # | #12 | ||

It looks like the first digit represents the model year of production (0 for '98, 1 for '99, 2 for '00). It seems that production was only in the 100's or just over 1,000. As it was said before, if Honda knew how to market this bike, there would have been many more on the road. In addition, I think that if they priced this bike correctly from the beginning, it would have been a better seller. Didn't the '98 originally cost $10,999, the '99 cost $9,999, and the '00 cost $9,200? If the bike hit the market under 10 grand, I think that it would have been a big hit...but then again, what do I know - I bought one anyway.

You could be right. There is diffidently a pattern here. I'll check my '00 tonight.

The marketing and pricing theory may be true. It will be interesting to see how the Yamaha Vstar 1100 and 650 Silverado's do this year. A basic bike with studded seats, shield and soft saddlebags. Obviously they see a market for the product, I guess the Roadstar Silverado is successful.
It looks like they are pricing the Silverado line about $800-$1000 over the base bike price. I believe $9200 for the 1100 and $6800 for the 650. I bought my T used, but believe I would pay in the high 8000 to low 9000 for this type of bike. When you start talking high 10's I would start to look at the Kaw Vulcan and Yam Roadstar. More cc's for the same dollars. Also, just check my VIN sticker, Mfg 12/98 Andy |

The serial #on my 1999 T ends with 100025 would that mean that my bike was the 25th build that year,is that right.
