Dual NavAtlas GPS Navigation System |

My Son gave the old man a GPS unit for Christmas. I guess he doesn't want Dad to get lost anymore. At my age sometimes I do forget my way around.

That looks like a nice unit Skip. I am not familiar with that model but I can see from the specs that it has some very nice features.
With the SD card you basically have a mp3 player built in. All you need is a power amp, speakers and the gps and you are set to boogie and not get lost. Bob |

Skip,
Nice looking GPS, but remember... they lie. Why else would they use a female voice??? After all, it was my GPS that strongly suggested that I take CR 10/2 last June. Andy |

I thought about you yesterday when I took it out for a test drive. She never took me down a cow path but I also knew where I was going. I must figure out what I'm going to call her.

I haven't mounted it yet on the bike. I've just been playing with in the Jeep. I'm just starting the a search for a mounting system for the bike. I glanced at RAM's website but haven't found a mount for this unit yet. The search continues.

I love punching in a destination and taking off! Just remember, it doesn't know if the road is gravel, dirt or pavement!! You can probably set the preferences to favor better roads and that will help. It still will take you on some poor roads if your not careful! Don't get carried away and lose focus on the road!!! Congrats Skip!!!!!!!

Dan,
You have to talk to them nicely, or there gonna mess with you. I spoke 'harshly' about my GPS when in Albany. The next morning I was taking a few backroads to get on to US 20 west. In the middle of a few turns my GPS stopped talking to me. Just kept saying "You are at your destination". After a quick 'makeup' session I was finally given the instructions I needed to get on to US 20. Rick, Some GPS's have option settings, but I don't trust mine. I played with the setting "Avoid Freeways", and everytime I traveled on the freeway and got near an exit, it would tell me to exit then re-Enter the freeway. ![]() Andy |
