This morning I'm driving my cage to work down a four lane city street and I'm about to overtake a vehicle ahead of me that is very slowly weaving back and forth, crossing both the center lane and my lane. I hold back wondering if this is just a single occurance and then I find the vehicle weaving again. So I time the weaving and I pass the vehicle. I look at the driver and it is an very young girl. I don't know what her trouble is, but I realize that instead of watching her in front of me, I am now diligently watching her behind me.
I ask myself if having her behind me is any better than having her in front of me. I don't know which is the better thing to do. Is there a better thing to do?
I reacted as I always do. In the past, when confronted with this same type of situation, I always elect to pass the vehicle. Then I usually try to get as far ahead of the vehicle as I can until I no longer see them.
I believe that there are two ways to answer this. There is what we think is the right thing to do and there is what we would actually do....Think long and hard on this one....I would dare to say that most of you will say....stay behind the vehicle. That almost makes the most sense. But most of us I believe are compelled to get to where we are going and not let things get in our way. Even when confronted with an erratic driver in front of us we will take the aggressive position and pass the ba$tard.
So what would you do.....honestly?.....
