I was not sure where this so go, so I stuck it under the Unsure Topic.
I was cleaning (okay caressing) my Tourer when I found that he chrome cover to the rear master cylinder was lose. Incredibly loose. So lose that I thought the bolt that held it on was loose so I tried to tighten it. I found that it would not turn and appeared to be as tight as it should be. Despite the fact that the bolt appear to be tight the cover was still very loose. I tired to see if it would come off and in fact it did.
Looking at the back side I realized that this cover only bolted into a rubber grommet that should be sitting in a hole near the rear master cylinder. Apparently the rubber grommet was not holding the chrome cover very securely.
I was able to force the grommet and cover back onto the frame mount. And I was confident that the chrome cover would not fall off.
Question.....do the rest of you have this flimsy' feel to the cover? I will attempt to replace the grommet with a new one and I will try to order one through perhaps someplace like bike bandit.
