Hi, everyone. This forum looks wonderful, looking forward to learning and chatting w/ ya'll, and on occassion, throwin in my 2 cents. I've just
upgraded from a delightful ACE 750 (my first bike) to my T. It's a 1999, silver and black, bought it barely broken in w/ 9,000 miles on it and I'm in
love. It came from CT and I'm having a blast introducing it to the mountains and twisties.
Thanks for the forum! Wist |

Howdy from the other corner of the lower 48! Look forward to hearing more about you, your bike, your women (oops - did I type that?). Keep the shiny side up.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. Yes I will be at Americade, can't wait!! My Aunt and Uncle are avid Gold Wingers, and for a few years now I've been
meeting up with them there. We're doing the dinner cruise Tuesday night, will spend some time at the booths but I'm hoping to really explore the area
more this year.
Scott, I don't always catch things right off so my apologies if I'm being dense... but if I read your post right, you're wrong. I AM a woman.
I'll roam around and find places to post... currently looking into a Corbin stinger seat... Wist |

Wist,
I was at Americade last year, but Andy/Clerider and I have been alternating years with the Honda Hoot in Knoxville, TN. For us this is the year for the Hoot. However, for other T owners, every year they go to Americade. In case you have not seen it, this link will take you to the thread about HSATF members who are attending Americade this year and when they plan on getting together, in case you are interested. http://hondashadowacetourer.yuku.com/topic/6746/t/2007-Americade-25th-Anniversary-Event.html

Thanks for the link, I've posted there. You lucky dog!! (if I can call you a dog) Of course I can, you're going to the Hoot!!! I went a few years
ago, best vacation I ever took!! Everyone should do the Skyline drive and the Blue Ridge parkway at least once in their lifetime! My only regret is that we
didn't continue on to the Cherahola (sp?) Highway... looks great from the postcards, lol!!
miles and miles of swaying with the road, looking down on clouds in the Shenendoah Valley, too much fun!! and of course you have to ride the Dragon, aka Deals Gap at least twice in a life time!! I hope you have a wonderful time!! Wist |

Wist,
I agree with you. Everyone should ride the Skyline Drive, Blue Ridge Parkway and Tail of the Dragon at least once in a lifetime, or better yet, as often as possible. If you do get down that way again, I would recommend trying the Cherohala Skyway. Its 15 miles in NC and 22 miles in TN start at just under a 1000 feet and end at just under 2000 feet but in-between the road ascends to almost 5400 feet and contains both sweeping curves and some sharp ones that can sneak up on you if you are not careful. Further the views from the overlooks are gorgeous, especially so on a sunny day. Be forewarned that even on a hot day, it will be cool above 3000 feet and you are likely to get goose bumps so big you'll have to stop and put a jacket on. Then when you descend you'll have to stop again to take it off. I assure you, it is worth the ride. Have fun at Americade next week!

wistful.....hello and welcome to the HSTAF forum from upstate New York. Although I've lived most of my life here in New York, I was born in Fall River,
Massachusetts. I've got a ton of cousins living in Manchester, New Hampshire, but I've not been back there for many years.

Thank you all for your welcomes!! Stan, how could they NOT know that silver and black are the fastest colors? Seems like a pretty intelligent bunch... no
accounting I guess. I'll get another memo out to fix that!
Alepel, cell phone may be the best way to go. Let me get back to you when I've consulted w/ my riding buddies. I grew up in Wrentham MA, family had a cottage in Fairhaven. I don't admit I'm a flat lander to most of my NH friends
mktobob, yeah I'm loving my new bike, I've put on 1,000 miles so far and it just keeps getting better!! I sat on and hefted my ACE 750 and almost went flopping over the other side, it's so much LIGHTER!! I hadn't realized the luxury I was missing on the highways, the T is so much smoother!! Wist |

Howdy Wistful!! from the great state of TX. When I got back into riding motorcycle I purchased a 750 too. Icouldn't believe the look or the ride but
realized quickly it wasn't quite enough bike for me & the wife. She picked out the Tourer and we haven't been disappointed since. Enjoy the forum
and enjoy the ride. Later Thruthefog |

Greetings from Wisconsin, Wist. Reading some of your comments, it's pretty obvious that you really love to ride. It's a love we all share on this
forum. I hope you get many thousands of great miles out of your new-to-you T.
When you have questions about the T, this is a great resource. If you are looking for a little entertainment, you'll find that here as well. BTW, at the risk of being flamed again by Alain, I have to point out to you (& Stan) that the Honda Racing Team's slogan is not "Ride Silver" or "Ride Black."
Once again. Welcome!
Stony
