rattle in fan |
Lead | ||
|
I was hearing an intermittent rattle coming from the radiator area during a ride, and again when I stopped, and noticed I heard it when the fan ws running. I
believe it sounds like small pebble is in the fan shroud. Anyone ever experience this? I haven't bought my service manual yet, is it a big deal to open
this and look?
Any help appreciated. rlm |

I feel foolish now. I went down this a.m. and looked at the fan, there's no way a small rock or pebble can sit in the fan, it's just an open frame that
holds it over the radiator. Now I have to figure out the rattle...

Not long ago, I had a rattle from the same area. Turns out one of the allen head bolts that hold the fake engine fins on the right side of the engine,
dropped down into my crome radiator cover.

They are the fins that surround the spark plugs on each of the heads. Look closely and you can see the small 4mm allen head bolts that hold them on.
