While putting my bike back together after getting new tires put on, I saw in the manual that it is recommended that the "stopper pin bolt" be
replaced. Is this something that I really need to do? I suppose it is no big deal to get a replacement, but I really don't see the need, unless it is
because it doesn't seat as well after it is torqued down. Torque is only 51 foot pounds, so that doesn't seem like that much. Thanks, Steve.

I only replaced the pads and dressed the rotor on mine, and have had no problems with it for over 8k miles. Use your own judgment on that.

Usually, a service manual will call for a replacement bolt for one of two reasons.
Bolt is stretched beyond elastic limit when in service (some con rod bolts are like this), or Bolt has thread-lock on it. I know the two that hold the front caliper have thread-lock and are recommended for replacement but I just cleaned them up and used some Loc-tite on it. I'm guessing it may be the same case for this rear bolt.

There was no thread lock on it. I think I'll just leave it as-is. It seems extreme to me to replace this part. Thanks for your replies.
