Here are some pictures from this years Americade. Demo was the
key word this year, especially for my son Richie. Joanne and I got to sit on the new Victory Vision. No demo's on these baby's this year but
Victory's outriders rode them several times during the demo rides. I found a heavy off the side stand bike, comfortable seating (Joanne says the passenger
perch was real comfy) with over the top styling that personally left me cold. We took out the Kingpin Tour again this year. I had it up to 95mph on the
interstate while trying to catch Richie in front of us on the Vegas. He told me hit 110mph with plenty of throttle left before we came up to our exit. The
Kingpin at 80mph felt like the ACE Tour at 55. So smooth and vibration free at that speed, an amazing bike. Richie demo'd the Triumph Speed Triple,
Kawasaki KLR650 and took his mom on an 1800 GoldWing and the 2000 Vulcan. He also tried the new Can Am Spyder. He said he could only describe it as a
snowmobile with wheels. A fun ride but a very different experience. FYI, Can Am administers breathalizer tests to everyone who wants to demo one, a
first as far as I know. I also took out the 1600 Nomad. Joanne continues to give it a thumbs down due vibration felt in the passenger seat and backrest. The
Boss Hoss picture was taken on Canada St. Thursday evening. Note it has a Dodge Viper engine! And that bottle of nitros on the rear shock...come on,
does it really need that? The dinner picture was taken at The Great Escape on Friday evening before the fireworks show. The buffet supper was very good but man
the weather was it hot that night, sweltering hot. I left early for our airconditioned cabin.
I also added a snapshot of Fred Rau, some of you may have enjoyed his articles over the years, I know I have. I finally got up early and attended 2 of his 'Fred's Coffee Club" early morning get togethers. I recommend it, alot of laughs and a general good time, plus free coffe & donuts!
