I went to St.Louis to visit my daughter in August, with a heat index of 105-107 degrees, it wasn't the best trip I've ever undertaken. At just over 800
miles each way, I only spent about $180 in gas round trip! Word of warning: Coming across Kansas on I-70 Between Hayes and Burlington, CO. Stop for gas
whenever possible. Most little towns have gas stations, but they aren't open on weekends, and close early,( around 6P.M.). It was scary for awhile. I put
29 miles on reserve before I found an open station. This was a trip I wished I had a sissy bar, as my pack kept slipping over my tail light, and I had to
adjust it every time I stopped. I had also put M/C Enterprises Deluxe Freeway pegs on my T, just before the trip, and they squeaked the whole trip. Seems that
the heat sheild clamp rubs on the freeway bar, and until it wears a small groove, it squeaks. Oh well, lesson learned.
Cheers!
