Posts: 103 09/04/05 6:54 PM Road Captain	Tags : None If anyone is interested, I want to trade the Vance & Hines dual bagger exhaust system that is on my wife's 2000 T for a complete OEM stock exhaust system. This Vance & Hines system is complete, from the header pipes back to the end of the mufflers. While "I" like the sound and feel of the V & H system, my wife does not, so I need to make the change. There are NO dents or scratches in this V & H system. If you need a few bucks for the difference between these two systems, I can handle that. PLease...someone please save my wife's hearing, and my head. Thanks, Million Mile Rider

Posts: 5876 09/04/05 9:21 PM	MMR, I am tempted, but I don't know if I would be happy with a V&H exhaust. Although I would like to have a less restrictive exhaust, especially one that did not include an obtuse angle getting to the left muffler, like your wife, I like the silence particularly when I am cruising on one of the several multi-day trips I take every year. If someone could assure me that there was a way to pack enough fiberglas in them to quiet it to somewhat near the OEM exhaust sound level I would take you up on the Trade. Anybody got the answer to my question, is there anyway to significantly quiet a Vance & Hines exhaust system? Fred

I don't think you can get them any more quiet as the opening thru the baggers is much bigger than the stock pipes plus you get a true 2 into 2 pipe. If we can ever get together you can take mine for a spin to see what you think, provided you promise not to go super sonic and burn the paint off the bike. I like the sound, I know others don't. With that said, knowing you, I am sure you would enjoy the performance upgrade that comes with the baggers, jet kit and high flow air filter. Not really much of a HP gain but it slides the power curve to kick in at lower RPMs. With this lumbering twin that make a big differnce. Dave
