Metalic scraping sound ... ?? HELP |
Lead | ||
|
When I pushed my T out of the garage this mroning (backwards) I could hear a metalic scraping sound. The first time I heard it I schrugged it off as possibly
being the brake pad touching the rotor. Bit it sounds way to metalic and I had new pads installed about 1,000 miles ago. I thought I also heard it while
making a slow left turn. It seemed to go away when I straightened out again. Does anyone have a clue what this could be??
Thanks for any help you can offer, Rich |

Could there have been some rust on the brake rotors?

It sounds like brakes to me.The rotor most likely has a glaze on it and when you go around a corner it put pressure on the wheel bearing which pushes the rotor
against the pad.Could also be the drive shaft.Mine made the noise of brakes but when I applied the brakes the noise stayed the same-turned out to be the
driveshaft was rusty and dirty and needed cleaned and lubed up.Mine had 28000 when I serviced the driveshaft....Good luck!!!!!!!
