Took you that long to figure out what I was talking about, huh Jay?
I got caught out in a sudden storm surge on my way home from work a few summers ago. Within a 3 mile run, I saw 4 garbage cans and a patio umbrella fly across the road in front of me. The wind was so fierce that I thought that I would scrape my pegs while running straight. About another 1/4 mile ahead of me there was a huge Oak tree that fell partially across the road as I approached. I swerved left hard and then right again running about 30mph to miss it. Sure was glad no one was coming in the opposite direction on that 2 lane country road. I finally came up on a house with the garage door up and ducked inside for refuge. I'll never forget the strange look on the owners faces when they discovered me there. LOL Stan

The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. I was heading to MS and had already dodged several severe thunderstorms. Finally one caught me just
outside of Selmer, TN. I rode as far as I could and finally spotted a vacant carport. I ran up the drive and ducked in. I called my wife and told her where I
was. She said is anybody home? I told her I didn't know if they were gone or just scared to come out with a drowned biker under the carport. No one could
believe that I pulled under someones carport! Hey, You gotta do what ya gotta do!!!!
