I don't know the size or the thread, but if they are metric check out Lowes as they carry the best collection of metric sizes of anyone else I know of except for specialty houses. Lou

Go to Lowes. Not only a good selection but you can get them in stainless and they want be rusting on you. Contact Stan, he just installed or is about to install his hitch doc. I have one but do not know the bolt size.

I now have lots of free time and no $$$I had pcs. plasma cut to make my own hitch and left the templates and bolt sizes at work. ![]() Jay

I don't have the sizes written down either cause I sent all the measurements with the templates. I still have not mounted mine yet. I'll re-measure them tomorro and let you know.

Jay, I am sorry to hear about your temporary layoff. I have had that predicament many times in my career. Until I started working for GM in '98 I either had time and not enough money (when I was not working or working not enough while consulting), or money and no time (when I had full time jobs). At GM I had both, good pay and lots of time off. Now I am back to a typical American full-time job where the money is good, but I lost 3 of 8 weeks of paid holidays/vacation time when I left Delphi a little over a year ago. The 5 weeks I have now is still better than the 3-1/2 weeks I used to get at some of the small companies I worked for. Then it was 2 weeks of vacation and 8 or 9 holidays. Now it is 3 weeks of vacation, 10 holidays. With GM it was 5 weeks vacation, 16-19 holidays depending on the year.
At least you will be back to work early next month. I hope this is your last temporary layoff this year. Good luck. Fred |

Jay....sorry to hear about the layoffs. Both of my younger brothers are now retired from Rochester Products, but I remember all the on and off's of their jobs.
We haven't heard anything about the truck project. How is it going? Still working on it? Where are you at in the rebuild? Did you ever get that chassis to work? alepel |

Thanks guy's , but I think this is going to be an rough year for all of us at Chrysler. With all the rumors flying right now none of us know what to think. I worry more for the younger employees who are in real danger of losing their jobs.
I will have 30 years there in May and will have to take a serious look at any retirement offer they make. I was hoping to put in another 5-8 years to get my daughter through college but with the state of the American auto sector right now, even 30 years seniority is danger if they close up shop. My shift is going to be eliminated in the next 60 days and that will cost another 100 jobs in our shop and more in the supplier network. The media says the economy is great.... Here in Michigan I know as many people without a job as with one, and the losses keep mounting. There are more pages of forclosure notices than news in the papers here!!! ![]() We are at the mercy of the American public. If everyone continues to by from foreign manufactures there will be no American industrial base soon ! Who will supply us when the next world war erupts? The countries we're fighting ? Jay

Clay, the larger bolts that came with my used hitch are as follows;
2 @ 50mm X 10mm diam and looks to be about 18 threads per inch. These are SS aftermarket bolts. 4 @ 40mm X 8mm and about the same threads. These look like factory bolts because they are chromed. I can't say where all of them go for sure, or if I have them all, but maybe someone else can. If I were to guess how much longer you would need the new bolts to be, I'd guess about 10mm longer than stock minimum. Too long should be OK on the side straps as long as they do not interfere with the tire when the shocks are compressed. Stan "We are different --yet we are the same."

Has anybody had a problem with the two lower brackets that go in the bag spreader ? Mine don't line up with the holes in the hitch.
The thread pitch on the 8mm bolts is 1.25
