I can't vote. I need the "No not yet but one of these days soon" choice.

I should have added two more choices:
- Want one but spouse says no - have one but wish I didn't |

I have four. Have had them for a while. Been thinking recently about adding more, but keep spending my allowance on bike accessories.

I can think of nothing on earth that's a bigger waste of money except maybe piercings. Oh wait, there's always tobacco. Spending money to kill yourself, I never could figure that one out.

Some people consider motorcycles to be "spending money to kill yourself". If that is the criteria, I can think of many things more destructive than tattoo's or smoking.
I don't have any tattoo's (yet). But I accidently left a couple of brochures and pictures on the kitchen table a couple of weeks ago. On the other hand, I have smoked a pipe for almost 30 years and firmly believe that growing older (aging) has been much more detrimental to my health than smoking. There were studies done years ago that showed that pipe smokers actually outlive non-smokers on average. I didn't do the research, I just remember having the articles handed to my by my tobacconist. It is supposedly a personality and mind-set thing. ![]() If it feels good... ![]() Putz |

Chicago,
You are of course entitled to your opinion, but I think your exclamation that tats are a waste of money is sort of like, "one man's junk is another man's treasure." Don |

Just noticed this post.
It's a fact we humans crave things that effect our central nervous systems. Be it tobacco, alcohol, caffine, or pot and other illegal drugs. In Southeast Asia the country people chew "bettel nut" which turns their teeth a horrid shade of black, for that caffine like buzz. In the Andes they chew coca leaf. The Pygmys of central Africa have been major pot heads for centuries. Sure none of these things are GOOD for us and I'm not advocating their use, but this craving is in our nature, for better or worse, it's a part of being human. Name your poison. I would wager most of us have at least one vice . M2CW

I have mostly self-inflicted body markings, nothing commercial. My scars tell the story of my life. Maybe I should tattoo an explanation next to them: dog bite, fell on broken pop bottle, car wreck in Germany, fell of swing set, that sort of thing.

I have one, just got it two days ago. It's a 'wedding band' on my left ring finger.
A joint problem forced me to take off my ring a few months back and it doesn't look like I'll be able to wear it again. Having been with my wife (and best friend) for 25 years, I wanted the symbolism of the ring and would not accept the inability to wear a conventional ring. I don't consider it a waste of money; I've blown much more in the past on more 'acceptable' things. Bill |

I have four. (Now those of you who would say,"FOUR?!?!", remember that I spent twenty years in the Marine Corps. What do you expect?)
You know Mike, I once thought of labeling my scars too, but these days things like 'Coratid Endartorectomy' and 'Five Coronary Artery By-Pass Graphs' just doesn't seem too cool. On the other hand, 'Stent' isn't too bad. Maybe it would catch on as a nickname. I don't have one of those. ![]() Gary
