Posts: 1054 09/15/07 1:36 PM	Tags : None don't know the exposure this story has had around the U.S., but we have a city empolyee who is a member of the "minuteman" organization(it's a lady and i think she is head of the parks and recreation board). for those of you who may not know about the minuteman project, they are the guys who are trying to protect our borders against illegal immigrants. something our constitution says the government is suppose to do, but has failed. anyway, the RAZA(mexican organization)and the NAACP are threatening to take their conventions away from kansas city unless this woman resigns her office. at 63 years of age, i try my best not to be racist, but i think this is ridicuolius. this would be a 14 million dollar loss to the city, but so far our mayor has stood behind the lady and said for her to do whatever she feels is right. i guess it's the world we're living in, but illigal immigrants come here to gain freedom, but then want to dictate the manner in which a city should hire and fire people by theats of taking away millions from our economy if we don't do what they want. just my rant. later, bud Last Edited By: kcroadrocket 09/15/07 11:52 PM. I am sick of having people who break the law being rewarded for the behavior. I also think that if you willingly break the law to have a baby in this country, then that baby should not automatically become a citizen. There are right and wrong ways to do things. When my family came to this country between the the time of the two world wars, it was a serious decision, and one made with the intent of becoming "American", not a hyphenated American. They refused to teach my mother their native language, because they wanted to be Americans and not Slovenian-Americans. I know many people who are doing it right, but I see many more here just sucking off of the system. By the way, I am thinking of changing my name to Rodriguez the next time I have to go to the doctor. Mike

They may have done some good in the past, but how can you fight racism when they have "Advancement of Colored People" in the org. name?? How about "Advancement of ALL people" (NAAAP)?? I think any organization that is dedicated to pushing for advantages of any race over any other is racist at it's core and should be shut down. I'm not a racist. I'm a humanist. Ride safe. Putz

Posts: 1054 10/22/07 7:58 AM	hurrray for our mayor!!! he didn't succome to la raza threats. he annouced this weekend that la raza was NOT holding their convention here in k.c. in '09 because of the lady on the parks board who is a member of the minutemen organization. it's a shame k.c. has to loose the revenue that convention would have brought to the city, but i'm sure they will make it up with other conventions and not have to be held hostage by those promoting illegal immigrations. the minutemen organization has already annouced they will hold a convention here in '08. the kansas city mayor has held his ground in this situation and done the right thing ....imo! probably big business will be all over him, but the majority of "people" in kansas city strongly feel this was the right thing to do. anxious to listen to the morning talk shows today. later, bud

HSATF Member Posts: 13 12/17/07 1:28 PM	Damn, someone finally decided to draw a line. I feel much better now, I was sure nobody could offend anyone policy was king of all. We can send our young people to far countries because of a maybe, but we can't clean up our own act. The lack of decisive straight forward laws and policies has allowed our country to degrade to a level of a**kissing that makes me want to puke. I feel this condition we are in is my fault, when we came home from Nam we should have shot every damn politician, or at least put them in jail. Any one who kills that many of our young people should be held accountable.

As one Viet Nam Vet to another I will tell you that I normally do not allow myself to get into political bantering about any war and what we should or should not do. But I do feel strongly about this one point. A criteria for any politician with a voting right on war, or troop deployment, or justification of involvement should have been in combat themselves. I defy anyone, who has found himself to be on the wrong end of a gun, to be willing with a clear conscience to subject another human being to that same fate, especially my children and my grandchildren. Posts: 1054 12/17/07 3:32 PM	i'm with you guys on this one. i try not to voice political or religious opinions on any forums, but we fought for our rights as americans and now we have to share those rights with anybody who can cross our borders, which by the way, is part of our constitution...to have our borders protected by the government. things don't look much better for the future..imo...look what we have for choices for our next leader, be it republican or democrat!!! if only harry truman was still around!!! just my opinion....'nuff said!!!
