HSATF Member Posts: 34 05/17/08 4:20 PM	Tags : None OK, who's the lube guru here? I want to change the final drive oil and want to go synthetic. I went to Wally World and the only gear oil they had other than marine oil was Fully Synthetic Super Tech in SAE 75W-145. I believe it has a GL-5 rating. Will this stuff work, or should I look for 80/90? I did a search through the forum, but didn't find any mention if this stuff.

HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 676 05/17/08 9:00 PM	The owner's manual specs SAE80 gear oil. I used Mobil 1 85W-90. That was the closest I could get to SAE80 in a synthetic. duke loud horns save lives

HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 99 05/17/08 11:17 PM	I just changed mine and I went with Valvoline Durablend 80W-90 Gear Oil. Its good stuff. I've used it in other applications and I really like it.

HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 72 05/21/08 8:50 PM	I use the Amsoil severe gear lube in 75-90 weight. GL-5 and works just fine.
