I think you have the wrong brackets that the sissy bar bolts to. My brackets end farther back than yours. Not much help, but my sissy bar bolts on at least
3" to 3 1/2" farther back. I have Honda line brackets.
The top of the brackets on my bike are taller than yours also, maybe 3" taller so the back rest will be higher to with the right brackets. 3" higher and 3 1/2" back with the right brackets. ROD if they still make them you can also make the back rest adjustable(lean angle) made by a member on this forum. my wife loves them.

Do you know what the number is to your brackets? I tried another set of Honda line brackets that the sissy bar bolts to and they were the same way. the guy at
the Honda shop did no know the answer. He has been there for 20 yrs.

You may have the shorter Honda brackets. They do come in different heights. I found this out last year when I owned 2 T's. One had a shorter set of
brackets than the other, and the taller bracket sat further back. I'm thinking the differences were about 1" taller and longer. Measure yours like I
did in the below pics and compare. The 1st pic is the shorter set, and the 2nd pic is the taller set. Notice in the 2nd pic I had to lean the tape back in an
angle to get the height measurement. Let me know what you come up with as I may have a solution for you.

Mine is like your first set. Except, my bar that goes up to the pad does not bolt on. But, I did get another one that did and it was like your first one. Maybe
I need to get the taller one unless you have another solution. Thanks, Jeff

ok
dont think they will move the rest back far enough to help me though so a friend is goin to cut me some pieces out of galvanized and weld them together to move my turning signals and backrest back several inches then I can mount saddle bags and make wife more comfortable with her knees goin to have them powercoated crome, or thats the plan at the moment anyway |
