Bud,
The unpredictable weather is one of the reasons I was wining and complaining about the rally week. Two years ago I tried to make the trek on my wing but the cold weather won. It never got over 45 for the first 100 miles or so. Knowing it was only 45 in Indianapolis which was over six hours away made the trip difficult. I bailed out after a couple of hours. Last year Holly and I rode down in the Miata. Having that sick, sinking feeling that it was going to be my last chance to meet Lou, we were going to get there come hell or high water. The first couple of days were nice enough for 'top-down' riding, but by Wednesday and beyond, it was rain and cool temps. A lot of fun roads in the area. One of my favorite spots was the Ozark Cafe in Jasper. Hope you get a chance to ride the rally. My participation will be a last minute decision based upon the current weather conditions. Andy |

I've got a new GW with heated seats and grips, new Frogg Togg Road Toads, insulated/water proof boots, BakerBuilt dilly-woppers all over the place, full
face flip-up helmets with fog shields, water proof gloves, AND..............a willing copilot.
I'm going!!!!

This time of year and in these parts the weather can change overnight. If you rely on the weather guessers to get it right more than 50% of the time,
you're gonna get surprised one way or another. We have 4 local TV stations in the Huntsville, AL area and when all 4 agree on the weather, then it's
very likely that what you will get is what is predicted. Once they all guessed that it would be sunny and in the low 60's all day the next day........we
awoke to mid 30's and 6" of snow.

A wet day in Eureka Springs is still a better day than anywhere else when the right group of friends are together.

Well put Alain! That was a blast sitting around the hot tub that night after supper talking tough, telling lies and giggling like school girls. Bob

Any ride in ES at that time of the year is going to include rain at some point. You just have to be prepared for it.

mktobob wrote: The experience of that week was so great that sometimes I think it was a dream. How often do a group of guys plan an event like that and have it exceed
their expectations. It did take some extra ordinary effort on many of our parts to make that trip. Most of us travelled some pretty significant distance just
to get to Eureka Springs. Not the kind of a trip you can make all the time. It would be wonderful if that event could be well attended every year but that is
easier said than done. And that is what makes it so sad that we cannot repeat this trip.

Doesn't look good. Hope for better.
Alain, the magic you experienced and described in the past was what made me want to attend. I'm sorry I couldn't attend in the previous years. Scott "Silence is golden, duct tape is silver" |

The thunderstorms are having an effect. The group from Minnesota that are camped near me are packing up to leave this morning. More thunderstorms are predicted
for the next three days, Saturday looks clear in the forcast. Of course a buck fifty and a local weather forcast will buy you a cup of coffee.
