The fins on the heads of my bike are dirty looking. I had the thought of using a fine sandpaper on the edges. Anyone have any ideas? your help would be greatly
appreciated.

600 - 800 grit emery paper will brighten them up just fine. Wrap a piece of it around a Popsicle stick or tongue depressor and have at it.
Also, if your engine and fins are looking grayed instead of jet black, then S100 has an excellent product called "Engine Brightener" that will make that engine look like new again. It comes in an aerosol can with a special spray valve and you just spray it on a cool engine, and then wipe the excess off with a cotton towel. To get between those tight fins you use a 1" cheap foam type paint brush and shove it in between them to remove the excess dirt and to spread the Engine Brightener more evenly. Stan
