Beautiful bike Wood. Love that color. The top case is very unique, never seen one quite like it.

Looking good my man!
Is that a reflector or light on the back of the tour box? Mike |

Mike, that is a reflector on the tour box, not a light. The box is inexpensive ($51) , but very good quality for the price.I think it's the same box that is on Alan's 98 t.
Thank all of you for the compliments

Looks good Dave.
It's the same box I got but only mine's black. Would have got the red one if I'd seen one. That red looks a whole lot better, like it belongs. It doesn't look like you had to trim the lift tabs off the side bags. Do they hit the top box when you open the side lids? Alan PS Red T's Rule

Thanks, Alan, I took a chance and ordered the red one knowing it would'nt be a perfect match. I was very surprised and happy and it's a closer match than I was expecting. The tour box is a darker red than the bike, but as you can see in the pics it looks okay. As for opening the Tourer hard bags lids:
If you open the lids straight up,the lifting tabs will hit the tour box, however, as I lift the lids I twist the lids to clear the tour box. Theres enough flex in the lids to do this with out the danger of cracking or breaking the lids. Your right, red T's do rule, but I would'nt mind having one of the tourquis and cream ones. they have a nice retro look.

great looking ""t"" , who/where did you order the top box from , love the look/style of it , rear reflector definitely got to add safety factor on night rides. hope they are still available as its perfect match to look of ""t"" and definitely wish to add one to mine very soon if possible/available !!

Okay guys, the tour box is sold under the name "Safebet". I bought mine new on ebay. I found it in ebay motors ,parts and accessories. I've seen this add on ebay on and off a few times in the last few months, but when i checked tonite I did'nt find it. I have the guy's email address which I will post if I can get his permission. The trunk is NOT quick release. It bolts to your luggage rack with 4 bolts. You need a flat square tube luggage rack to bolt it to. Get the Honda line luggage rack. ( I had a cobra luggage rack on my bike, I had to replace it with the Hondaline to make this work well) The trunk was availible in 3 colors Black, red, and gold. The trunk fits a full face helmet and maybe a pair of gloves but thats about it. For the price you cant go wrong, If you dont like it your only out $50. I sure like the Champion tour trunk I saw on a members bike but can't afford the $800 , and I've heard some negative feedback about Champion.

Outstanding Wood! Just beautiful. A friend of mine has a Valk Interstate with that style trunk. Never thought it could look so good on a T. Whoever did the matching paint is a real artist.Rich |

VALKYRIE INTERSTATE TOUR TRUNK
I doubt I'm the first to put a valk tour trunk on a tourer, BUT I've never seen it done before, so I had to do it. I'll probably be the only one If i tell you how much i spent on this project. I dreamed this on up about a year ago, and started buying it piece by piece. The 2 main pieces ( trunk body and lid) I got off e-bay for pretty cheap. The paint job was $600, but as you can see the guy did a great job matching the colors.THe rest of the parts ( there are many and they are expensive) I ordered from parts fish and discount honda parts. They stopped making Valkyrie parts, and when these supplys run out thats it. I had the trunk ready to mount back in october, but had to hunt down one last part( right side trunk stay) that arrived just after X-mass. Even then I had to fabricate an adapter to mount the trunk stay to the touers fender stay.Im very happy with the results. I like to take long trips and be prepared, so the storage is needed. Right now the trunk is permanently mounted, but I hope to work out some kind of quick release system in the future. thanks Dave
