lou, appreciate the input on the mudflaps...seriously, as i'm not completely sure i like them. SO, i have been asking my friends up here and so far it's about a 50/50 split. at least they're something easy to take off if i decide to. anybody else on the forum have an opinion on them, let me know....i can take it.
having said that, i have a quiz for you. i did a pretty major mod on Halfbreed and i want you to see if you can find it. nothing i added on, just a mod from what was already there. later, bud

stan, thanks for the input, and i agree with you. thing is these fenders, although they look great on the bike, don't "hug" the tire at the point where the mudflaps attach. my first thought was they'd accent the whitewalls and i still like the white flaps, but just think they "hang" funny. they're probably coming off.
the mirrors are different, and that's another story. ended up costing me a fortune, but I DO like them. bought them off ebay and the guy showed me that one had a small blemish on the mirror side. i saw it and decided for the price i'd live with it or have the mirror replaced. when i got them, he had not packaged them very well and a mirror had broken....my luck....it was the good one. called the guy and his comment was "sorry about that" and p.o. wanted me to fill out a "book" on it, so i just took it and had it replaced. still had the blemished one and decided a few weeks later to have it replaced too. anyway, i finally have a nice set of mirrors. but, that's not the mod, nor is the windshield. it hasn't been shortened.
speaking of windshields, the old 'wing i bought is costing me too. i had a like new set of harley mufflers and decided to put them on it the other day. while installing the left side, guess i was pushing too hard on something and the bike went over and broke the windshield. found a new one on ebay for $55,00, so will order it tomorrow as i decided to keep the old 'wing and ride it some too. going to get a new rear tire on it also.

i'll tell the mod tomorrow night, as i'm not sure lou has had a chance to see it yet. just thought it'd be afun thing to do since many members know Halfbreed so well. had her over to a friends auto shop today as he's just bought an excelsior/henderson. he had never seen Halfbreed and said "didn't know you'd bought an indian"love it!! later, bud

alain, thanks for the input. we've talked a little before about old cars and i guess that's the difference between a street rodder and an old custom car guy. you go for less, and we go for more...whitewalls, fender shirts, continental kits, appleton spots, well, i could go on and on. i've had both street rods and customs, but always leaned toward customs and that's what drew me toward Halfbreed...she was different. that's the story behind the "bracketry" on the rear fender, it's different and it's a reproduction of a real indian rear bumper although i think it was designed more for the chief model. at times i look at it and think it's a little "too busy" back there, but it's staying. paid too much for it to go in the junk pile.
absolutely no hard feelings to anyone sending their two cents worth of critizism in. if i didn't want it i wouldn't have ask. by the time eureka gets here, hard to tell what Halfbreed will have or not have. i love changing looks of things.
still nobody has seen the mod....must have done good with it. later, bud
