Dave, I spent the first half of the 80's as a bass player. I went back to guitar when I started doing a midi duo with my wife. We were called Stony
Roads. Some folks started calling me Stony, so I kept the name and use it on line. My wife and I spent the last 10 years (before we hung up our guitars) with
ACA. We did mostly resorts, hotels, summer festivals, private parties, and weddings. We tried as much as possible to stay out of the the of clubs. I've
done Summerfest a few times as well, but the last time was on the WLPX Rock Stage. That was quite a long time ago--early eighties.

Another bass player, cool. I too played bass. Haven't open the case though in some time. I have a 35 year old Rickenbacher in the closet.

Count two more from WV Brian and Terry Bock. 99 T's.
Brian BTW SKIP, you can now add Terry as a member I guess since she is now the bonafide owner of an ACE Tourer. |

Terry was always a member as far as I'm concerned. A real biker!

Great news Brian. It will be great to see you two again. As time draws maybe we can figure out our routes and we could hook up for the ride down through VA.
Terry is now on the roster. Tell her to loosen up her fingers and start typing away. Welcome to the Brother/Sister hood Terry. "We want to be free... Free to ride our machines without being hassled by the man!" |

Terry,
Not sure how the timing is going to work out, but my plans are to leave Cleveland early in the morning, ride either 800 or 555; then pick up WV47 to WV16
and work my way south. Last year when I met Fred in Princeton for our Americade trip, I took US19 all the way to Princeton, but found the traffic in Beckley to
be a PITA. I'll probably jump on I77 just before Beckley and take I77 to Wyethville, then hang a right on I81 to Marion. I would probably be in your area
about 1pm Thursday. If this does not work out, I'll look forward to seeing both of you in Marion.

Andy,
When the time gets closer, Woods and I will make more definite plans. As a retiree, I will have a pretty flexible schedule, (I really like the sound of that) so Woods' work schedule will probably dictate a lot of our riding schedule. Last year I met up with Tony & Megan (Did I spell that right?) just west of Cleveland. The one thing I want to be sure to avoid this year is riding through Akron during rush hour. Stony

Brian,
Not that $4/night is going to break the bank, but try booking online and select the 'Internet Users' rate. It should be $58 and some change plus tax per night. |

Hey all, just let you know I am planning to attend though it is a little early for me to be talking routes.
This past weekend 3 of us left Atlanta area and rode the BRP from Canton NC to Monroe VA. Have the impression I rode right by someone's house. We came back on 29/85 about 500 miles on Sunday. It was really quite a view. First time I have been on the BRP where I could actually see a lot of stuff (no leaves on trees) and no traffic. We got wet of course, but a nice time all in all. I look forward to the riding being talked about and meeting all the wonderful sounding people. Steve

Steve,
That was quite a nice, long ride for a weekend. Got any pictures? Wet or dry are welcome.
