HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 1909 06/01/07 5:02 PM	Tags : None Anybody riding this weekend? Got any great plans. Gonna cruise down "back road America"? I think the wife and I may take a trike hike down to Galveston to the annual sandcastle building contest. That's usually interesting. But first, I think we will go to one or two of the three places we have our "stuff" stored (from the move this week) and see if we can find were the devil our shoes went!!!!!!!!!!! -Dan

Posts: 1535 06/02/07 6:40 AM	Well, I HAD big plans! I have been working in KY for 3 months and had the bike at the motel, primed and ready to go on our company ride! We were riding over to the Shawnee national park and to Hog Daddys saloon for lunch, then back around thru KY to Owensboro. I would be on vacation next week, so I just knew it was all set! Guess what? This week I get sent to LA to get two more jobs kicked off! Now I will be building the mother in law a deck cover this weekend! There's always next year, I guess!!!!!!! HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 3702 06/02/07 11:12 PM	My brother and I have been trying to get our wives broken in to riding longer distances on the Wings. Both of them would rarely ride with us until we bought the Wings. They are liking it more and more as time in the saddle increases. Next week we plan to ride over to Guntersville, AL with a local group for some dead fish. In 3 weeks we will head out to Knoxville, Tn for some great riding with Fred and the others from this forum. HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 562 06/02/07 11:29 PM	All my riding this weekend will be short trips. Scattered T-storms all weekend. Don't wanna get caught in the rain. Got my bike all cleaned up with that Suzuki bikewash, and I don't feel like doing it again soon if I don't have to. BTW that stuff works great! Next weekend, my son and I are taking a 230 mile (one way) trip together. Gonna throw the tent and some gear in the trailer and drag it behind the T. Rain or shine, it should be a great time. The best part is, next Friday I will have less than a week to go before I retire and I'm taking a personal day off. Stony

HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 699 06/03/07 8:23 AM	I'm in La Conner, WA right now - I'll be home tonight. Two up around the North Cascade Loop. Visited friends at their vinyard in Chelan. Ate lots of good food, slept well, the bike ran like a dream. There is still snow on Washington Pass on Highway 20. I'll post pictures and story later. Scott "Silence is golden, duct tape is silver"

HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 1909 06/04/07 11:15 AM	Didn't get to ride this weekend. Too much stuff to do from the move. There was too much traffic going to Galveston anyway!! In two week will go get the new trike in PA. Probably pack in over 2000 miles on the trip home. Guess we need to save up seat time!! Speaking of seat. I am UPSing my Corbin seat (and a couple of other items) to PA. to go on the trike. Should make the ride back just that much better. Still haven't found our shoes!!!!!!!!!! -Dan

HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 250 06/04/07 1:38 PM	No real riding this weekend; just a short breakfast ride with the wife. Working Saturday and Sunday. I got to go on a +100 mile ride with a couple of Red Knights buddies last weekend. Went up Route 9 in New York to Bear Mountain Bridge and on to Beacon, NY. Found a spot in an outdoor cafe, the Muddy Cup, just in time to watch Beacon's Funny Hat Parade. The mayor, riding in a Corvette, about a hundred marchers, all in funny, homemade hats, the middle school band and a firetruck. That's it. Took about a minute to go by, but it was great. We also got to ride in a Memorial Day parade, but I'll save that for another post. Greg Four wheels move the body; two wheels move the soul.

Posts: 252 06/05/07 11:42 AM Second Officer	I made a circuitous route to ride some untravelled roads. I was impressed with my T's handling. I didn't knee-drag, but made quick time thru curvy portions. Tom in Yadkinville NC It is not what you ride, but that you ride.

Posts: 1535 06/05/07 10:04 PM	WOO-HOO!!! As I type this. John and I have just gotten back in the room from riding the DRAGON!!!!!! We finished the patio cover yesterday and made quick reservations in Maryville for the next three nights! Left at 900 am after John had to give blood. We rode for 7 1/2 hours to Maryville, threw our bags in the room and set out for the Dragon! WOW!!!!!!!!! We will ride tomorrow and Thursday and head home Friday! I'll have details and pictures when we get home! Gotta get some rest for tomorrow! Rick The "BIKE" is why we came, The "PEOPLE" is why we stay!

I know the feeling you share, and in about 3 weeks I'll be getting re-aquainted with the Dragon once more. It's pobably gonna scare the crap out of my wife and sister in law, but maybe not so bad that they ban riding all together. Pray for fair weather in the 70's for us.
