Can anyone provide me some advice on a decent rider backrest? My Harley had one and I miss it plus I am planning a long trip this summer and it would sure
help make like easier. I have no idea who made them in the after market or if Honda offered one? I also have no idea what I should pay for one new or used.
If you have one, send me a photo and your thoughts on price and we will see what happens.
Thanks, CW Rider |

are you looking for "driver" or "passenger"? i have a driver backrest off my aero, but may not fit the tourer. you might check, as i'd make a good deal on it if you could use it. later, bud |

CWR....I see that you have a solo seat configuration like mine. When I bought my bike it had the Protac drivers seat rest on it. I love it. It is simple,
comfortable, and removable. I didn't buy it because it came with the bike. But I offer this information up to you as it might help you in your process.

i bought mine off another forum, but with the chrome seatrail i have, it doesn't work very well with it. so, i made one that fits into the small of my back(where i needed the support). later, bud |

Your backrest is either incredibly small or your using trick photography. LOL. I really can't tell if it is the same as mine from your photo. You can
probably tell better than me for the picture of my bike. The attachment you describe though sounds the same.

alain, guess i mislead you on this. one in the first pic is the one i made so it would work with my chrome seat rail. it is small, but fits right in the small
of my back(where i need the support), and is actually real comfortable for me.
these pics show the backrest i'd sell and it is a pro-tec, as i got to looking and it still has the tag on it. if it does fit the T, i'd take $100 including shipping in the lower 48. later, bud |

Can either of you tell me what the model # on the backrests foil tag says? I have the backrest like this, but no brackets for mounting. I understand that
Pro-tac used the same backrest for several different bikes - just the brackets were different.

stan, my tag is almost worn off, but i'll give you what numbers i can make out.
PRO-TEC A, SC 2965...i think the last number here is a 4 and at one time there was something in front of the A. second set of numbers: 300-698-26...think another number here is 7 and there may have been more at one time. this probably isn't much help, hope alain can give you more info. later, bud |

Stan....I'm sorry the tag(s) had been removed when I got the bike. I've no idea what model this is.

CW Rider,
I have a Protac driver backrest that I am planning on selling. I just bought it a couple of months ago. I think it was $140 plus shipping. It really helped with lower back support with the stock seat. The reason I am selling it is because I just picked up a used Mustang wide tour seat with the driver backrest. Let me know if you are interested and we can work out a deal. Dan |

Holy Crap, that is more feedback than I can digest on a Friday night after a long week at work. Actually I am in the process of gearing-up for an overnight
ride tomorrow (you know: wash bike, check over bike, pack, gas, spend time with the kids, have relations with the Ms's (ya right), etc.) but I will respond
to you all soon. You guys are WAY to fanatical about this stuff. I am trying to decide which backrest I like the looks of the best and I will focus on that
one.
Thanks, CW Rider |

I have the Cruiser Customizing brand backrest. It is fully adjustable fore and aft as well as tilts and folds flat for rear seat access. Here are a few images
for visual purposes. Hope this helps in you decision.

Alain, I have been trying to find out what the brand of the lightbar is for months. It was sold to me as a Cobra non-billet, but that is not correct. I've
only seen one other like mine on another T and for the life of me I can't find the picture and description. I believe it was a new member on this board,
but have gone through all the "members bikes" and "new member introduction" threads looking for it again and have not come up with it.
I'm thinking it is a Custom World International brand. I'm kicking myself for not writing it down in my list of add-ons.
It mounts to the underside of the lower fork brace and uses the same bolts as the headlight bracket. The lighbar bracket goes under the windshields lower crossover piece. If you cut that crossover piece out, then the windshield can be removed w/o removing the lightbar. Stan

Stan....from what I can see of it, it looks great. How about some close up photos of it for me. Maybe if some of the forum members could get a better look at
it they might be able to help you identify it. Even if they can't I'd like to see some closeups of the assembly and a head on shot to see how it looks.
Thanks in advance.....Alain |

My T is so dirty right now from the last trip in the rain that I'm embarissed to take any pics as it sits now. So, I blew up and cropped some old pics.
Hope they work out. You can see them here; http://hondashadowacetourer.yuku.com/topic/7011/master/1/
