Rifle Lowers - Not real impressed. |
Lead | ||
|
I'm not real happy with my Rifle Lowers. They don't seem to do enough when it's cold, then they do too much when it's hot! Is anyone else
having a similar experience?

After installing them, did you actually feel warmer on cold mornings? Because I'm not.

Chicago, when riding in the winter or summer for that matter, you should wear pants. Bob

but all kidding aside, yes....please wear pants when riding.
I don't think the lowers are intended to block much wind, just help reduce the air coming up underneath the windshield to cut down the turbulence and buffetting. To block cold wind either some engine guard chaps or a set of deflector vents would be your best bet.

Also, I have these mounted about as high as I can and my forks still bottom out against the mounts on large sharp bumps. Buffeting has never been a problem for me so I think these have gotta go. If you do sell them I'll take em . You beat me to them when you bought them. I'll ride down your way and pick them up.

If you want to ride all the way to Baroda, Michigan, I'll put them in your hands for $50. Heck, I'll loan you the tools to install 'em in my
driveway!

Why are you called "Chicago" if you live in Baroda? Shouldn't you be called "Baroda" ????

Well, first of all, Baroda is just a far eastern suburb of Chicago. We get all of the Chicago TV and Radio stations, all of our lakefront property is owned by
rich Chicago people and St. Joseph (a town just north of us) throws a "Venitian Festival" every year just for Chicago boaters.
But the reason I call myself Chicago is that I just love that toddelin' town. I practically live and die for Da Bears, and I love the Bulls, Cubs and Blackhawks too! The best pizza in the world is at Pizzaria Uno on the corner of Ohio and Wabash. They invented deep-dish, ya know. When my wife and I were dating, we would go to the old Chicago Stadium, buy Bulls tickets off the street and watch MJ play. I was at the NFC Championship game in '85 to cheer the Shufflin' Crew on to the Super Bowl. I was also at the Fog Bowl in the '88 playoffs. I've been to Blues Fest and Taste of Chicago a bunch of times. I've been to Chicago around a hundred times and I can honestly say I've never had a bad time. Wait, I feel a Frank Sinatra moment coming on. It's myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy kind of tooooooooooooooooooooown!

Jay, FedEx says they are waiting at your door. Be sure to find the little ziplock bag with the 4 extra chrome screw covers in it. Let me know how you like
'em.

Fed ex dropped them off today. Glad you mentioned the ziplock because I sure did miss it. I will get them on tonight and let you know if I find the same
annoyances you did.
I'd have responded earlier but the transformer at the end of my road blew out at 5 Thanks
