Mike, I am already planning on attending next year, at least for a couple of days. Ken's rides are definitely something worth looking to.

Fred,
Keep me up to speed next year on when you go. I've been doing a lot of riding in the hills since last year, and I have been getting more familiar with some very good roads just northeast of me. Maybe we can meet up and I can show you around next year on the way to meet Ken, or any other time you want to go. I may even be able to keep up. ![]() See ya later, Mike |

Mike, thanks for the offer. I am certainly hoping to get out your way before Oct., 2007. I plan on attending the Honda Hoot next June, but I also hope to get at least one day trip in sometime between now and then. I have to pick the opportune time, like when my wife is involved in some other activity and won't miss my being gone for the day. Those opportunities are few and far between, but I will let you know when the next one comes up.

I have had to shelve this idea for a while. I simply don't have the vacation time or money to do this right now. Last fall it was a surgery that put a halt
to my plans, and likely will be the cause this year also. Plus, this year is already pretty much planned out for rides and events what with the WV rally that
Fred is hosting, and the fall ride that Ken has planned. I don't want to interfere with any of the other rides already planned for this year. Maybe someone
else in the area who has the time would like to takeover this event. I would like to still have one in this area or further south and would likely attend at
least part of it, but I just don't have enough time to put this on myself. Not this year anyways. Maybe next year.

I may be able to attend if the timing is right and it's not anywhere around Montgomery.

Y'all realize that Eureka Springs is southeast to me. Maybe next year in my house on wheels.... sigh.

OK, add me to the list of people who think this is a good idea. Now I am assuming this is in addition to the 5th Annual T Rally set for Sept 5-8?
Alabama is as good a place as any. Give such I really support the idea of a fall Rally. My reasons are RAIN in the spring and heat in the summer. Fall is a great time to ride in the south, especially after the kids are back in school (being kidless now and all). So, great idea. Now what????? |

Just finding someone else with time enough to host this. I might be able to do a 3 or 4 day long weekend rally. I can still plan the rides, find accommodations, and select a central location, but I wouldn't be able to be there for more than 3 - 4 days max. I really won't know for sure how much vacation time I'll have left this year until the Dr. gets through running all the tests on me. If I require surgery, then I'll need my vacation time for recovery. I'll know more by the end of August, hopefully. I would really like to hold this during Barber's Motorsport's Oct. vintage bike races. I'm thinking that the Ft. Payne area would be a good place to centralize the rally. It's close to North Ga., Guntersville Lake, Little River Canyon, lots of covered bridges in Blount county, scenic caverns, the 29 Dreams Motorcycle Resort, and of course the Barber's Museum and race way. I've had at least one other person in Birmingham say that he would help in that area if he has no other commitments at the time. Stan

I've thought of putting a rally together someday where I live in North Florida. The Ocala, Daytona and Okefenokee Swamp area make for some nice riding.
Problem is, Florida already has Bikeweek (March) and Octoberfest, so when would we go?.....April?
Hey, I'm in for Alabama. Don't forget the Suches,Ga two wheel resort in the Northwest corner of Georgia. There are some fine roads around there! |
