That's correct. But. We do have some winter here. So, on both of those mornings, I'll just wait until it warms up!!

Some of y'all need to start thinking about bedding down your "T's" for the winter and getting out the old snow shovel.
Since I didn't get to ride much this summer, I plan on riding a lot more this fall/winter. (Provided the old wrist gets stronger.) Actually, I guess it won't be that much different since we ride year 'round down here. Oh. Sorry Bob. -Dan |

I live on Vancouver Island in BC and it starts raining about October and doesn't stop until June. But I have a secret weapon against the rain that keeps me
dry. Yuma, Arizona........

Alan,
Do the military jets still make practice runs over Yuma at 6 am?

The last time I was in Yuma, AZ it was 126 degrees.
When I stepped out of the car, it was just like checking the cookies in the oven to see if they are done!! Humidity was zip. I don't believe one could sweat if they wanted to!! Ofcourse, that was in the middle of July. -Dan |

6AM?? Yuma Marine Corps Air Station?? We are about a mile or less from the base and the first Harriers go out about 8AM. Think of them as very high tech alarm
clocks. I served in US Naval Air in the 60's and I LOVE the sound of jet aircraft. Harriers are amazing..... F18's.... F5's from the opposition
squadron.... C5's.......... Army helos from Yuma Proving Ground....... Border Patrol aircraft in the middle of the night...... I love em all. I don't
care how much noise they make or when they make it.... I just thank God they're up there making it. alan is now stepping from the pulpit and folding his
HUGE American flag. Or as my Canadian wife tells her Canadian family and friends up here in Canada "Don't get him started".

Alan,
In 1975 my brother, a friend from college and I were on a trip across the country in my brother's '69 Mustang. One night we stayed at a KOA campground in Yuma. At 6 am the next morning the jets seemed as though they were making a 10 mile run with their at supersonic speeds (afterburners on) and then turning around and doing it over and over again. Needless-to-say there was nobody still sleeping in that campground after 6 am. Perhaps complaints from residents have caused the USMC to change the start of the flights to 8 am...

I'm definitely going with the gel battery when it needs to be replaced which seems to be every 2 years dispite whatever I do. I had a factory installed gel
battery in a Miata which I had for 10 years and never had any problems. Maybe it's still in there with it's new owner.

I just ordered a sealed T shaped battery from the folks on ebay that Danbgt used. Price was $42.99 + $13 s&h. The part number for these batteries is
SHYB16A-A and it is rated at 18ah. This is the only company that carries a T shaped sealed battery now. The local parts house had these for $74.99 + tax so the
one from mottobatteries on ebay is a good deal.
