Glad to see you guys and gals are starting to arrive home safe and sound. Can't wait to see the pictures and hear the details. I wish I could have made the
trip.

Kathy and I dropped off Fred at about noon today. He is sore, but in very good spirits. Fred's wife prepared a really nice lunch for us. Thanks, Yvonne!
(Fred, feel free to correct the spelling.)
We are currently at my brother-in-law's house in Charlotte. It was a real nice and unexpected visit. The T is on the Trailer. We'll be driving back to Wisconsin tomorrow morning. Hopefully we'll get back tomorrow night. Glad to hear everyone got home ok.

I arrived home about 1
First of all, thanks to everyone for being so nice. I can truly say I am happy to have met each person. I will second the hotel comments, lack of a pool or hot tub given the time of year was kinda a bummer. The number one benefit of the gathering was all the sittin' around and talking. I did not participate in as much as others, but I had a great time. Given that most of us had never met, everyone was friendly and worth knowing. Three bikes down does not make for a good rally. We were just plain lucky that two of them didn't involve much more serious injuries. However, the cooperation, support and just plain hard work put out by the folks who were there really gives a great indication of just how much of a community bikers are. We also had great support from members of the local communities who helped assisted and took time out of their days to help folks who needed it. It was definitely inspiring. Now for next year, we need a pool, hot tub, internet access in the rooms, and maybe some simpler roads to ride. Steve |

Sandy and I arrived home at about midnight with 630 miles logged from Marian VA to Watervliet MI.
We hadn't met any of the riders before this event but it didn't take long to feel like we were with a group of old friends. For us, this ride was tagged onto the end of our camping trip. Over all, it seems that in the last 10 days, we have covered every emotion! Pure relaxation and enjoyment, nice rides, beautiful views, new friends, then the shock of seeing one of our new "family" go down, relief that he's OK, then the same two emotions .... over again. I was thinking, . . . if (or when) I take a spill on the bike, I hope I have the support of a group like this. Ya-all (trying to speak "southern" now ... we don't say "ya-all" in Michigan) are awesome!! By the way Stony. I'm sure Fred appreciated the ride home. You and Kathy really went out of your way. You have a long ride ahead of you back to WI. If you get near SW Michigan and need a bed for the night, give us a holler. You're more than welcome. Rich -n- Sandy Horst 269-463-5423 Here's a couple of pictures. I will upload more later.

Stony and Kathy brought me home yesterday. I needed the help. Despite my off-road excursion and the subsequent splat in the middle of the road, I was doing
relatively well until I went to the hospital later Sat. afternoon to get checked out and they gave me some intra-musculature pain reliever. It did relieve the
pain, but after that I lost my balance, had nausea, a headache, chills and fever. My balance still had not recovered by the next morning, so Stony and Kathy
took me home in their Dodge Ram. Stony was happy because he got to ride his T down to my house. My T was loaded on their trailer. Cathy was happy because
they got to stay with her brother who lives in a western suburb of Charlotte.
My neck, shoulder and hip are fine. They all were stiff and sore after the accident, but by Sunday morning were no problem. My back, at the main impact
site just under the right shoulder blade is still painful and weak. If those muscles spasm or are under-load I cannot speak above a whisper. I may have
bruised some ribs and also the right lung. The good news is the hospital in Marion said I have not broken bones or head trauma. They had done a CAT scan
and took X-rays of my neck, shoulder, chest and hips.
I rested yesterday afternoon and had a good, full night of sleep last night. I still do not think I will go to work today. Maybe tomorrow.
I am most impressed with how quickly, decisively and most helpfully everyone responded when I went down. Immediately after I ended-up on the highway,
members of our group stopped traffic in both directions so I would not get run over. I laid in the middle of the road for a couple of minutes until I felt
strong enough to get up. Nurse Sandy walked down the hill with me to a store where we re-couped before going to lunch and riding back over 3 mountains to
Marion.
Steve from northern GA led the ride back and thought he would get chastised for going too fast. He seemed like he was going slow to me, but the others were not keeping up with us in the many series of tight turns. Rich and Sandy delayed dinner and stayed with me at the hospital for about 5 hours. We had a "party" in my room after Rich and Sandy brought me back to the hotel. I laid on the bed while everyone crowded in and discussed my situation. While I had been at the hospital my handlebars were straightened out and I greatly appreciate that. I could not ask for better friends or more help in my time of need. Thanks to all. More about the accident, the fun times and pictures later. Now I have to go to a doctor's appointment for my wife.

Sorry to hear about all the misfortunes from this past weekend. You have to add me as a casualty of the famed summer of 2007. I "missed" a curve on
OH 555 climbing out of Cutler, OH this past June. I was watching my two boys negotiate the hairpin left turn ahead of me and I took my eyes off the road.
Rookie mistake! Luckily I only suffered a couple of broken ribs and a severely bruised ego. My bike was ridable and I made it back to Athens, OH that day and
the trip back to Seville, OH on the next.
It was difficult for me to roll into any agressive turn for about 2 months after that "awakening". Nancy and I send our thoughts and prayers to everyone who had a "religious experience" lately. Mike

Fred, happy to hear you are well and only 'bruised the ribs, lungs, etc'. You put together a good series of routes and rides and I am certain everyone
had a great time.
Did you hear how HD Steve did on his ride home? Let's keep in touch, you and Mike and I don't live that far apart. Mike is in the middle, maybe we can meet at his place and ride some. |

It's great to hear that all of you enjoyed the Rally. Hopefully, those who experienced mishaps are well on their way to recovery. It seems most injuries
are scrapes and bruises so healing of the body, and the ego should be swift. Maybe i will be availiable for the next rally or ride-in
Stay positive beemer90 |

Dang!
What does that make, five or six of us that had accidents this summer? Maybe we need to have a non-riding "unrally". Get together someplace and place dominoes or tiddly-winks. You know. Something really, really safe!!!!!! Naw. Never mind. It would never work. -Dan |

Steve (ngmcbiker),
A ride sounds good to me. Not right away though, I keep seeing Alan tumbling off his bike and into the ditch, HD Steve going off the road in a cloud of dust, and Fred lying in the middle of the road. This weekend really shook me up. Not enough to even consider not riding anymore, I just need a bit of a break. I have sorted out everything that happened in my head logically, but it still bothers me a bit too much to do a long ride right now. Alan, I have to edit this - i noticed you posted after i asked about you. I am so glad that everyone is ok. I have learned a lot of lessons over the past few days. I feel bad the my new freinds had to get hurt before I came the the same conclusion that Alan has stated above. I pushed it too much as well, and that is a mistake I will not make again. Fred, I am very happy to hear you are ok. Get well soon, and I do look forward to riding with you again. I have just lost all desire to try and keep up though. Mike

Alan,
I am glad to hear things are looking up for you. You and I both learned valuable lessons this past weekend. Steve, Here is what my brother Dave wrote about T Rally weekend and their ride home. Fred: "I had a terrific time. Your riding buddies are great fun and very friendly. I am sorry we had to leave early, but circumstances are what they are. We spent all of Saturday morning at the Harley shop. They were having an open house, so we had plenty of things to keep us occupied. Steve's bike only needed a fuse, but to get to it they had to remove the seat and other items and although it took three hours to repair, there was no charge for the service. All that was needed to ride legally was a functioning headlight. We left the dealer at 1 PM and stayed the night in Front Royal arriving home yesterday before 1 PM." "Good trip, good ride, thank you, have a great day." Dave

Thanks for the updates fellows. I am so glad that we are now hearing from the wounded.
There is a lot to be said about "Riding your own ride". A few weeks ago the couple in front of me went down on a curve that was over his comfort
level at the speed he was traveling.
