I'm so glad to know Fred is ok! I didn't like your condition when we left you, but....I knew you were in competent hands. Alan, I appreciate your
prespective on all that happened.
Rich just said he got his bike 'fixed' (starting up again - I don't have to push it anymore Sandra |

Wow!!! Sounds like a wild ride this time. Sure glad no one is more seriously hurt. You are hurt more than any of you deserve or desire.
Alan, The pictures of your bike are pretty frightening. It's good to know that, like a Timex, your bike took a lickin' and kept on tickin'. Good to hear that everyone made it home. Like has been mentioned by several people already, this forum has succeeded in producing a family of brothers (and sisters). Any of us will help any of the others if possible. This must be the summer of crashes. Lets not have any more. There's been plenty already. And in Andy's case, plenty of close calls already. (Andy, get back on the horse. Unless you are just too spooked, then by all means step back and catch your breath. But you should get back out there and let your confidence get restored. You're a good, smart rider.) I wish I could have made the trip. I'm looking forward to hearing more about the trip and seeing some pictures. RIDE SAFE, damnit!! Putz |

Hello everyone, I'm glad to hear everyone made it home o.k. (except I still haven't heard that from Kathy & Stony). Fred, I'm
really glad you're o.k.
Everyone accused me of being A.D.D. because I went around getting everyone's name & "handle" on the forum (& I took pictures of most of the license plates so I'd know where everyone was from). They asked me to share some of the info on the forum so, here goes; Attending was - Dave (Fred's brother) and with him was Steve Hughes (HD) & John Gale & Sandy - AKA; Gale Rich Mike (the guy with the black T) - AKA; Mike2000T Steve (one of the black & red Ts) - AKA; NGMC Biker Stony & Kathy (red & black T with the pick-up truck) AKA; Stony Tony (black & cream T) AKA; Tony the car guy Alan (black & red T with the duct tape) AKA; Alans 98t Fred (teal & cream T) AKA; FredRider Terry (the nut with a black & red T, also) AKA; Lady Ace Brian (T with the custom paint & the eagles) AKA; brian bock If I misspelled anything or got anything wrong you guys go easy on me. I WAS the only gal riding my own T on those challenging roads so give me a break. Which leads me to my next subject - Kathy, you are an angel, no kidding. She led us in a group prayer after Fred's spill. We still had a ride back across "16" and were all a little unnerved. The assurance of extra help from God was welcomed. And we were VERY fortunate to have a nurse along (especially on this ride) - Sandy, we all thank you for all the sacrifices of your time for the wounded and the benefit of your expertise. I totally enjoyed meeting everyone and made some friends. I thought the pizza party was a blast! I enjoyed this year and last year AND I can't wait 'til next year. I've met so many nice people and each one brought something special to the mix. Fred, thanks for explaining the difference between a single piston engine and a dual piston engine to me. I found that VERY interesting and I appreciate you taking your time to share that. I learned a lot throughout the weekend. Probably more than I realize. When Stony gets home he'll be posting our pictures for us so you guys can see them, too. Later.......Terry |

Terry,
You are welcome regarding the explanation of the performance differences between the single and double crankpin V-twin engines. BTW, you did great riding those most challenging of roads. I have an 85 year-old neighbor whose idea of doing well these days is reflected in his answer when you ask him how he is doing. I am always happy to hear his answer of "I'm vertical." We all know the alternative is not good. Likewise, if you rode, you had a good time and you did not crash, you did great in my book.

I thought of the T rally this past weekend while my daughter was up to visit with us. I finally got to check the forum for updates on how things went, because
I really wanted to make this one. As I started reading, I was in awl of the happenings. I'm glad to hear everyone is ok, and it turned out being a good
meet. Lot's of smiling faces in a lot of pics! Here's to best wishes for speedy recoveries for everyone that had misfortune. Went through mine this
Feb. and understand that 'awaking' feeling.
Again, am glad to hear everyone is doing ok! Mark |

So glad to hear that everyone made it home alright. Some of you have learned the same valuable lesson that I learned in my teens when I 1st started riding.
You've got to ride your own ride. I wrecked the same bike twice, nearly totaling it both times. The 3rd time I cracked my helmet 6" up the rear. Could
have been my head instead. I had a dull headache for months, but could not afford a doctor back then. (Now you know what's wrong with me LOL). It hurts now
a lot more than it used to when I get hurt, so I've learned to take it a little slower, and be a little more cautious. Hope you all have too. If I have any
extra parts lying around that you need, then post it on the board or send me a PM and I will respond. Again, glad it was not more serious than it was.

Stony and Cathy, are you home?
Terry, I didn't even recognize you by your picture with the long hair! Thanks for getting all the information - it was helpful to all of us. I enjoyed getting to know you - you liven things up (good thing). A neighbor of ours was in that area of VA a mth. ago - he saw someone airlifted. Once again, I feel we were very protected. I didn't realize I was going there to 'work' - I thought is was supposed to be a vacation. Sandra |

Like Tony said, we are all still gabbin'.
Hey let me tell you all that the pictures of Alan's bike do absolutely no justice to how bad it looked when it got picked up from the ground. It looked a LOT worse. What was truly amazing was the minor injuries (everyone was wearing proper gear and we had some luck). By the time of those photos it had been reassembled and cleaned up a bunch. And literally it had many parts being held on by duct tape. How Alan only had the minor scrapes is beyond me. He is one tough guy. And Alan, just because the old guys were out front, you didn't need to try to keep up! We know you young uns' are still learnin'. So, where is next years conclave and who is hosting? Tony, did you volunteer? Bet the turnout is even bigger given all the excitement from this year! Everyone was great and poor Sandy, had to work AND push her ride to get it started. Now we also have to admit Rich pushed his own ride a bunch of times too, so he shared in the effort. As a funny (sic) footnote to Fred's incident, immediately after we all got stopped and had finally gotten Fred off to the side of the road, there appeared to be 3 motorcycles down. Fred's was upside down, and both mine and ?? (Brian's or Stony's) were leaning over on the crash bars as we had gotten off so quickly on soft gravel the bikes had 'leaned' all the way over. To the cars coming around the corner it must have really looked like quite a calamity!!! Shiney side up and rubber side down, great advice. |

"So, where is next years conclave and who is hosting? Tony, did you volunteer?"
I would suggest having the 2008 Fall T Rally in either Nashville, TN or Natchez, MS. That way, the rides could all be on the Natchez Trace. No twisty's. No mountains. Maybe ya'll could keep you bikes on the road and keep from hurting yourselves!!!!!!! -Dan |

Sandy, Now you know why I was giving Tony such a hard time for not noticing my new hairstyle. Fred noticed it but Tony said it was a "guy thing" to
not notice those sort of things but, that Fred had had more years of training than him. (my hair was long & curly last year at the rally). Man, it was
really great to spend time with you and Kathy.
Steve, that was my bike on the crash bars 'cause I'd stopped so quickly. That is pretty funny. I hadn't thought of what it looked like to the people passing by. Sandy, as far as livenin' things up, well, ya know - we all have our job to do and I did my part! Later |
