I have read a lot of the articles here about stators and regulators and understand to a point the theory of how all this works...but not sure of how to find
out if I even have a problem or I am just learning how to cold start my "T" only had it since May. On my trip to the Ozarks last week I had trouble
starting one cold morning and we had to push it off down a hill. I have a "light bar" that was added and ran the lights all the way from North
Mississippi to our destination due to the rainy conditions. My first thought was a weak battery -something I have not changed out since buying the bike. So
we spent the first day riding the country side (never had another problem cranking all day after warming up) looking for a battery. Found one in Harrison AR
and installed there in parking lot. Service manager came out and checked with meter asked me to give it some throttle and said it should be putting out more
volts ?? (i think he said volts not amps). He suggested I take the fuse out of my headlight slot and keep running lights off till I could get home and check
further! Now I am paranoid and have looked up the parts and their cost and know I have no idea of where to start. Mind you if I have instructions and diagram
of what to do it does not scare me to attempt but hate to spend dollars on parts that don't need to be replace. By the way - I put fuse back in the lights
- I did not feel safe riding without...I did not and have not used the bar lights. My "T" cranked each morning with a little choking and ran fine
all day with no problems. Any suggestions?
