Unsightly Battery |
Lead | ||
|
I haven't seen any postings about the color of the battery and how it sticks out like a sore thumb. I use black duct tape around the bottom half and it slides in and looks great. I suppose it could be painted too. Just a thought. The Tourer is such a beautiful bike I don't know why something hasn't been done about it.

Yep, painted mine also. I could never understand why the cover wasn't designed to completely cover the battery.

Yep, It looks horrible!
I painted mine and then did as Stephen did. The chrome side cover pretty much takes care of it! Rick

I tried a foil tape for a while, but it tarnishes quick. The black electrical tape works for me. I'm wanting to get a chrome cover soon for my bike. I
think they look very nice!

Electrical tape, I never thought of that. Very good idea.

"Chrome Brite" adhesive tape by "TrimBrite" products looks pretty cool. It's better than alum tape and it comes in a variety of widths.
I use the 3" wide. If you a re still concerned about tarnishing, then coat with a spray acrylic clear coat in the aerosol can to protect it.

It's this one.
http://www.scootworks.com/ (see "Left Frame/Engine Cover") I'm cheap, so I went the black duct tape route.

Use a shorter battery.

You only need the battery to start the bike. While it's running it gets the power from the alternator.
