I do list: 1997-06 VT-1100C Shadow 1995-05 VT-1100C2 Shadow/Classic/Sabre/ Spirit Is it any of the following. Thanks, Barnett's i would not have believed it ! ! do i get the clutchs and clutch springs for the C2 ? ROD

HSATF Road Captain Posts: 345 12/11/07 10:33 AM Second Officer	Stan, How hard is it to replace a clutch? Looking at my service manual, it looks fairly easy to replace the discs and springs. Mine has 45k and I have never really liked the friction point, and can adjust it no more, so I figure it's about due. I am a fair hand with a wrench and some instructions, I have just never tried it. Thanks, Mike Piece of cake for most folks. Just follow the manual for the procedure and everything will be fine. Remember to loosen each of the 6 bolts in the basket evenly 1 turn at a time until they can be turned by hand. You don't have to remove the entire side cover....but just the round cover that houses the clutch basket and plates. HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 58 12/20/07 8:10 PM	I know that my '98 VT1100T shares the VT1100C2 ENGINE, but other parts do vary (discussed regarding rear shocks in another thread - the dealer thought all the Shadow's shared the same shocks, until I pried and pried and got them to compare part numbers). I also know that when I got an EBC clutch kit from the dealer a few years ago now, purportedly for my bike, it came up a couple of friction rings short. From the graphic at the Bikebandit link above, it appears that to be because the outer two friction rings have different part numbers, and the dealer apparently didn't know to give me those to complete the set. I guessed to reuse the outer rings, but to look at them we couldn't see any difference. As for changing the clutch, the only complication that we ran into is that we had to disconnect the pipes at the headers to move the pipes far enough away to perform the operation. So, before starting the procedure, I would recommend getting replacement crush gaskets for your exhaust headers as I think that those are one-time use only, and they may not reseal properly. Marpesia
