For my old Kawasaki, A repair kit would have everything needed to replace all the softgoods. Don't think I've seen a repair kit for a Shadow, but I
haven't looked for one either.

Mine started leaking several years ago on a trip to Devil's Tower, Wyoming. I used a small pair of vice grip pliers and gently squeezed each of the two
pop rivets that hold it together. I kept adjusting and tightening a little at a time until it stopped leaking taking care to do one rivet then the other. It
hasn't leaked since. Hope it works as the petcock is pretty pricey - about $70 then.

I have the leaking petcock problem and gas was also leaking from the connection to the tank. I fixed the petcock to tank connection and tried using vice grips
to stop the petcock leak but it 's not holding. .
I just ordered a new one, hope it gets here this week |

Drill out the rivets, glue it up, and put in some tiny nuts and bolts. No? Or maybe even pop rivets, although nuts and bolts are better I would think.

alan wrote: I might only add that one should be extremely carefully about drilling into a gas tank until all precautions are taken to ensure that no fuel is still in the tank. I'm not certain what exactly is the correct procedure for purging the tank of all fumes but I wouldn't just go drilling without make sure everything is safe. I know that alan knows this too, it just didn't get said.
