Hi everyone, Bought a 1998 tourer at the end of september. Red/black, most beautiful bike I have ever seen. I have had several bikes in the past few years but I am pretty sure this is one that I will be keeping for a long time to come. Recently added some safety chrome and can not wait until spring so I can get some miles on this bike. Just wanted to say hi and I will post some photos if I can figure out how to. Later!!!! |

Welcome to the forum from S. Mississippi. There are many friendly and knowledgeable folks here that will make you feel welcome.. BTW, that is one beautiful bike you have...I love my black "T", but if I could change one thing it would be to make it the same color as yours....Bob <><

Hello BB....and welcome to our forum from Upstate New York. I cannot believe how truly beautiful your Tourer is. It has to rank right up there with only a
handful of truly outstanding Tourers I have seen.
I was truly intrigued to read that you are from Newfoundland. Many moons ago as a young navy brat my Dad was stationed at the Naval Air Base at Argentia, Newfoundland. I started my formal schooling while I was there but I apparently did not like school too much and I reportedly took little day trips for which the Shore Patrol had to be called to find me. Well it was not so much me that the Shore Patrol was looking for, but the Base Commanders son who I use to get to go along with me. I have many pleasant memories of Newfoundland. One in particular that I remember was watching my Dad fishing from the shore. My Dad was by no stretch of the imagination a fisherman. But he would cast a line out and bam a fish would bite. He did this several times and he was done. It made an impression on me as a small boy that fishing was just too easy. Once again welcome to the forum. I'm looking forward to 'talking' with you more in the future.

That has to be the nicest "T" I've ever seen!! I don't think that is a common color combo, if it had been offered when I bought my
"T", I would have opted for it in a NY minute. Welcome to the site. Please list all the extra goodies on this gem of yours.

Is it cold up there!!??!! You are absolutely correct in thinking the T is the most beautiful bike ever created. And that black/red combination is at the top of the heap, in my book. Mine is all black. (You can check her out in the member's bike section). Even though I am getting close to not riding two wheelers at all, any more, I think I will probably keep my 98 T just to look at!!!!! Again. Welcome!! Stick around. I just had to look at this beautiful motorcycle again and I noticed something I had not seen before. Strange as it seems that this bike is being stored
"indoors" it is not alone. When I look at the reflection in the chrome side covers I see another bike is in the room. What do you suppose we'd
find if we looked in the bedroom?

BB you are my hero, every winter I want to bring the tourer into the dining room so I can admire it and work on it in the warmth but Megan has stopped me
every year. Apparently she doesn't see the logic, it seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Your bike really gleams - some great customziation going on. I hate to ask but do you have any idea what brand your rear luggage rack or sissy bar is ? I seem to be the only person in the world that does not have a sissy bar that is compatible with the standard bestem or hondaline racks.... the spacing on your rack mounts seems to be greater than the standard 1 5/8" and more along the lines of the 21/4" I think that mine is.... I have been going batty trying to find a rack that will work with my setup. |
