What Fits With What?

Posts: 7901 02/12/08 12:10 PM	Tags : None I've been pouring over the internet shopping for chrome. I've got my shopping list and I'm looking everywhere that the internet takes me. One reoccurring problem I have is trying to determine what fits on our Tourer and what does not. Very frequently sellers will list a multitude of Honda models that an accessory will fit and I'm just not smart enough to know what's what. So here's the question. I see this desgination on a lot of accessory items and I want to know if it is true that these models are interchangeable. VT1100 ACE Tourer 98 - 01 VT1100 ACE 98 - 99 VT1100 Aero (no years listed) VT1100 Sabre 00-06 Maybe another question should be what models of Honda Motorcycles have interchangeable accessories with the Tourer? Tourer & ACE Tourer & Aero Tourer & Sabre Tourer & Shadow 1100 (general population) Thanks in advance guys. alepel "Ride with the Spirit always, and in all ways"....hombldr

Posts: 1905 02/12/08 12:25 PM	Al, If I recall, the ACE T shop manual also covers Spirit model. Based upon this, I would say these two are most closely matched. We've seen Aero floorboards on a T. What I normally do is check BikeBandit, CruiserCustomization or the part manufacturers website. Check the part numbers for the T and the other, similar bike to see if they match. My guess is, even if a part has multiple applications, it will still have the same part number. Andy

HSATF Member Posts: 36 02/12/08 4:19 PM	There is a reason the Tourer and Spirit use the same shop manual. They use the same engine. Think of the ACE T as an ACE with the Spirit engine and you'll have the idea. The majority of the ACE accessories will fit the ACE T.

HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 1927 02/12/08 4:33 PM	Various parts are common across the entire "Shadow" spectrum. Even the 600ccVLX. Things like levers, throttle, risers, tail light, etc. Just about any part can be adapted to fit just about any model. Various other parts are common for many models. ie., the throttle assemble on the 1100 Shadow is the same one used on the Valkyrie. Very confuseing. That's what makes a place like this, HSATF, so useful!!! -Dan Don't worry about the horse being blind, Just load up the wagon.

HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 3747 02/12/08 9:39 PM	Here is what I know personally. The '95 and up Ace engine guards (crash Bars if you will) will fit both the Ace and Ace Tourer. The Ace, Spirit, Sabre, and Ace Tourer all share the same seat, passenger backrest, luggage rack, and brackets. Rear footpegs, grips, switches, and controls are the same on all models of VT1100's. The rear tail light of some early models of VT600 VLX's are the same as the T. The '95 and up side covers, front forks, and front fender are the same on the Ace and Ace Tourer. Except for the paint schemes, the tanks are the same for Sabre, Spirit, Ace, and Tourer from '95 up. The ignition switch and housing as well as the petcock are the same on all models of '95 and up VT1100's. I'm not saying that these are the only ones that swap out with the T...............just that this is what I have either gathered from other boards (or members of this one), or that I have tried myself in the last 3 years.
