Thought I'd give this a shot here, looking for an F650GS or dakar or an older R1100GS. I'd be willing to trade partially or fully in either direction depending on whatcha got.
I would also consider a full\partial trade in either direction for a Wrangler 97+
By the way I know most of you know about these accessories, the long descriptions are because I copied this from my ad on craigslist.
After thinking about it long and hard I realized I can't own a bunch of different motorcycles at the same times. I would like to move on to a BMW dual purpose bike so I decided to sell my faithful Shadow (and Hawk GT).
I had this bike for quite some time and have taken many road trips with it, it has never let me down and I haven't had to futz with it at all save for changing the oil and putting in gas. It is bulletproof and will last a lifetime. I am confident you can fly in and ride it home, so confident in fact that I am willing to ride it practically anywhere in the continental US (as long as all my expenses are paid for + return airfare depending on where you live)
Here is the basic info.
2000 ACE Tourer
Black
1100cc
approximately 50k miles but don't let that scare you off, I have owned Honda motorcycles with over 150k miles and even then they didn't break, I sold them to friends or family so I could get something new, most are still ridden to this very day!
The touring model is very rare, you won't find another on the street, the hard bags are a lifesaver, I don't own a car and am able to get a weeks worth of groceries into the saddlebags. While on trips I have a tent, 2 sleeping bags, 2 sleeping pads plus cooking gear in the left side bag while the right side holds my tools (just in case but never needed), extra boots\shoes, spare helmet, stuff for the woman and enough food for 3 days. If you need more room than that you can get a Tbag or trunk (or a station wagon). The bags are 2ft (24") long! 3 Kermit chairs can lay flat side by side along the bottom.
Here are all the after market accessories that I can think of off the top of my head but I am sure there are more that I am forgetting.
Custom World International light bar (autoswitch mechanism to turn on/off; pulse the high beam for 3 seconds and the light bar is on, repeat and its off) light bar can be on with either low or high beam headlight. I also have 4 extra bulbs for the lightbar.
Custom World International Chrome Engine covers (see pic of left side of the bike)
Cruise control! give your hand a break on those 1500 mile iron butt rides!
Full sized windshield with two built in cup holders!
Kisan Pathfinder Headlight modulator (turns on when high beam is on but has light sensor that prevents it from working when its dusk/night. You won't believe the number of people that pull over thinking your a police officer!)
Hondaline luggage rack and sissybar
Cobra Engine Guard
Back-Off Brake light Modulator (three pulses when you first apply the brake, then solid for a few seconds, and then repeats the pattern. This makes you MUCH more visible at stop lights and when stopping!)
Kuryakyn Iso grips with Throttle Boss (makes the vibration of any motorcycle handlebars much less and allows even a person with carpel tunnel syndrome to ride long distances)
Cobra Floorboards for both driver and passenger (Many, many more foot positions possible for comfort; OEM pegs included)
Black retroflective flame decals (these are wicked cool! They really light up and make you visible at night! During the day they are a muted black and blend in nicely with the bike, almost like ghost flames, as a car's light hits them they light up bright white)
I have a new rear tire sitting in the closet but have yet to have it installed-Update just put on a new Valk rear tire 180\70-16 the other day.
I have also added a 12v socket and battery tender cables.
Other things I can throw in with the bike if you so choose it.
Skid lid helmet (Used just once or twice as a spare helmet)
cruiserworks riding boots size 11 (Brand New)
First Gear Kilimanjaro II Jacket XL (Brand New)
Mini booster \ jumper cables, I only needed them a few times during the winter in 10 degree weather, I ride year round.
Plus many other things that I may toss in just to get you on your way.
Ok now let me try to get all the imperfections out of the way.
This bike has 50k miles, it was not ridden just on the weekends like most bikes so it has some nicks from rocks and other road obstacles. But no dings or dents! And the paint is in very good to excellent condition!
The windshield isn't perfectly clear, its a little hazy so if that bothers you you can replace it or take it off completely, only takes a minute to remove. I only keep it on for the cupholders or when I'm on a road trip.
I went down on the right side last year but the crash bars took all the damage, since the accident I put on an additional 12k miles traveling to key west and back as well as a 2 week 2500 mile trip throughout the northeast. (yes I have pictures to prove it). So basically the accident did not damage the bike except for the scratches on the crash bars which can be replaced for about $120. There are also some scratches on the right saddlebag lid and rear crashbar\saddlebag guard.
The Cobra floorboards are starting to pit BUT Cobra products have a lifetime warranty, I was going to have them replaced but Cobra wants the old ones back and its a 2-4 week turn around and since my bike is my primary transportation I couldn't be without them for that long. However I later realized I had the original footpegs but by the time I realized that I simply forgot to have the floorboards replaced. Maybe I'll get that done one of these days so you don't have too.
The right side chrome muffler cover (a purely cosmetic piece) was bashed by one of our wonderful potholes here in NYC so I removed it, it's only a $30 replacement and it hasn't bothered me so I didn't replace it.
Notice all the problems are purely cosmetic, none are mechanical, and I will say it again, I would ride this bike right now to California if someone were to make me an offer. (Please, I want to get out of NY, it's cold here)
The oil was changed about a month ago (about 500 miles ago) I have a box of filters and oil that I can give you also with the bike. Since this is my only transportation and I am anal about maintenance I always changed the oil routinely.
I do believe that's it, if I am forgetting something specific please ask, if I remember something on my own or someone asks a serious question I will update this ad.
Ok now onto the pictures
The first two (left and right with the luggage rack minus the sissybar) were taken up in Maine.
The third one shows what the flame decals look like when hit by light, it also shows the scratches on the right saddlebag lid, but not the bad itself.
The last one was taken up at Mt. Washington about 2 months back when I rode up to trailer err I mean bike week in Laconia NH.
By the way if someone from another state would like the bike and would like me to ride it to you, can I request it be a tropical state like Florida, I could use a tan as well as a vacation! (Yes I'm serious about riding it to you)
Oh last I checked blue book value was about 5900 I think.
PS I also have a Hawk GT for sale
