Posts: 2307 02/20/08 10:36 AM	I sure wish we could make it but Sue is nursing a bad ankle. She had surgery on it this past October to repair some tendons that she tore just before we made the trip to ES two years ago. Just before Christmas she fell down the stairs and broke the same ankle. Now she is in another cast and it just won't heal. If any of our readers have never been to this event...please do what you can to attend. GREAT people and wonderful riding! Bob

The Eureka Springs trip this year is just out of the question for us. We have already planned a trip to LA in March to visit my wife kids and I am booked to go to Americade in June. HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 89 02/20/08 7:45 PM	While I am not part of the 'old gang', I do find ES an intriguing destination. I checked it out on the Web and it looks gorgeous. I have a buddy in St. Louis - he no longer rides after an unfortunate incident, but he has land down on Bull Shoals in AR that we have been to a number of times. I keep threatening to ride the river road (follow the Mississippi) from up here in MN to Bull Shoals - thats only a 100 miles or so west of ES. Unfortunately April is still questionable weather up here in the north - I have seen six inches of snow on April 23rd. I am itching to hit the road alot this summer - destinations as yet undetermined (sturgis or possibly a long haul out to New England where I have never been) We'll see how things pan out but ES is maybe depending on a lot of factors. MktoBob - too bad you are not going... you are only an hour and a half south of me... down another river road. We could have headed down together - it would be nice to ride with another T so that we would be on the same 'gas stop schedule' for a change....

HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 3867 02/20/08 10:23 PM	I'm officially not going to be able to make it, either. We've got 2 weddings going on that week and Carol is helping with the receptions. I hope to be able to make it to the Hoot or to Wing Ding this summer, but spring events will be limited to the local stuff. Anyone that can make the Eureka Springs rally is in for a real treat. I made it to the '06 and even though it rained most of the time, we had a grand old time just hanging out with each other. I do plan to make it back when ever family ties loosen up enough. But right now I don't know how many bikes vs cars we will have. If your looking for an RV park try Wunderlust (800-253-7385) or the Kettle Campgrounds (479-253-9100). HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 96 02/22/08 9:02 PM	Well I am sorry to hear this may be an off year for this event. I looked at the 06 and 07 postings and it looks like you had a good turn-out. Even so, I am considering going to this event (we have to try to keep a good tradition going). My plans had been to ride East to Ohio and then south to the Hoot, but those plans are in the hands of someone else. So now I am looking for options in case the ride East falls through. I'm glad there is an event that is not half way across the country for me. The month of April has me a little worried though. It is still possible to get some heavy snow during April in Colorado. I'll keep an eye on this thread and let you know when my plans look more definite. Still haven't heard hide-nor-hair from April, her new hubby.....what's-his-name, Rick and his boy John. Through The Fog has dropped off the face of the Earth. Andy is still non-commital. Putz has disappeared. Bob, Al, and Stan can't make it. Looks like me and the misses will be getting there about Tuesday. Still not totally sure. Looks like we'll be trikin' up there this year. HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 1935 03/03/08 5:03 PM	With 7 weeks to go, it looks like the ESRRR 2008 is picking up a little steam!! 5 or 6 folks are in the que, with a few other's standing by. Looks as though there my not be as many T's there as there have been in the past, but the crowd is growing. Lots of new faces. Some of the old crowd. Who knows. With 7 weeks left, maybe some more of the old crowd will crawl out of the woodwork and we'll have a record attendance!! It'll be a good time. It always is. Setting on the deck, lying, er.......I mean telling stories. Riding the Ozarks. Doesn't get much better!! Don't get left out!! It looks like I will have to pass on ES this year. I could probably cut loose with the funds, but I have a new grand-daughter due in late April and I would probably get the evil eye from Mrs. Putz. (if you know what I mean). I sure wish I could make it. I had an incredible time during the first get together, even if it was filled with a bunch of pansies. I guess I should cut you all a little slack. We did manage to get some of you out for a nice soaking. As our friend Alain would say... pictures, pictures, pictures. Ride safe. Putz
