HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 94 03/06/08 9:11 PM Tail Gunner	Tags : None Hello Everyone, I received an email from Jeff Oliver in regards to us having a Western Canadian HSATF weekend. At this time I know of 4 of us who would attend. I was looking in the forum trying to see how many Canadians ther are! I thought at one time there was a map listing everyone, or is there another way to find out? If we were to arrange one, of course you all would be invited to come to Canada! So if anyone knows how to find out, this would be great! I bet Skip, you probably know! Thanks Lloyd

This rally sounds interesting to me. I'll watch this thread and see where it goes. I am from the Denver area. What area do you live in? HSATF Member Posts: 36 03/13/08 9:11 PM	One place that readily comes to mind is the "Going to the Sun Road" (AKA the Logan Pass). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Going-to-the-Sun_Road . The ride is spectacular, as is the scenery! The Logan Pass is located in Glacier National Park (Northern Montana) and is truly a sight to behold. There are alternate side rides as well through East Glacier and Whitefish. Another place would be the Highwood Pass in the Kananaskis Park (Banff, Canmore, Black Diamond (a wonderful biker stop), etc). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kananaskis_Country and http://www.moon.com/planner/canadian_rockies/mustsees/highwoodpass.html Either of these would need to be riden in July or August because of the heights involved. Pick the right time and I'm in wherever we decide to meet... Jeff

HSATF Member Posts: 16 03/14/08 10:53 PM	I just got back from a water conference in Banff this week and as I was driving back the thought occured to me that this would be a great place to go riding and camping. The highways are wide and twisty and the view is awesome. Possible meeting place could be in Cochrane, Alberta then taking the #1A highway which meets up with the #1 highway to Banff and Jasper. We could ride as far as we wanted or camp and socialize, whatever the group decided, just a thought ! Garry

I like the sound of riding up the spine of the Rocky Mountains from Colorado to and through Canada. I have not been to Canada since 1980. Don't think you have to mention the Going to the Sun Road for my sake (because I'm on the US side), and I did that route just last year. No doubt, it has outstanding scenery, but I remember driving and hiking in Banff and Jasper. I am counting on you guys to show me the best riding Canada has to offer, because to do this trip, I have to lump all my vacation time together. I will probably tour more than just the weekend that is planned. I would like to hear more about the date, so I can figure just how much vacation time I can earn before the ride.
