I found your site looking online for a 1100 shadow something.I had bought a 1976 500 ruby red twin in 1978,a new CB650 in 1979 and a new CB900 in 1980.That was a nice bike. The first year I believe for shaft drive, air shocks and a dual range tranny.I had it for about 5 years and sold it to my brother.I had twin girls and a son,was building a log home among other things and just didn't have time to ride.Jump ahead 17 years and my 17 year old son bought a GS500F Suzuki. The next year he bought a GSXR600 and I kept the 500 for my wife to learn how to drive and for me to get back on the road.If you have not had the chance to drive a bike like that, the 600 that is,this thing has 134 hp right out of the crate. You just about have to put a seat belt on it to stay on.He is a great rider but when he rode buy the house one day standing on the seat and his mother was on the 500 getting used to riding it in the lawn and she saw him,do the math. Not good. She came in the house and proceded to slam every door in the house and pretty much ripped all the door stops of the casings. We were both in the dog house for some reason.GO FIGURE.Well next up was trying to find a 1100.I had seen your bikes and pretty much wanted a T.I travel in 18 counties for my job in NW PA and some in NY and I have been in a ton of bike shops.I was in Limestone,NY and this older lady was coming in while I was coming out of the front door. She was driving this beautiful red honda 600 shadow deluxe and was trading it in on a scooter.First thing I did was holler dibbs to the owner then called my wife and said I found a bike for her.She has 34 " inseams and you should see her trying to get those legs up on that 500 crotch rocket she had been riding. The guys at the place where she works will not let her park next to all their bikes. That bright yellow bike was too much for them.Anyway we traded the 500 for the 600 in sept 07 and she put 1000 miles on it before winter. She can park with everybody else now.Now I have two girls in college and my son is going to culinary school to be a chef in the fall so it is no wonder why dad is last.Don't get me wrong.I do drive a road hog Buick Park Avenue for my job so I don't suffer too bad.Ok.Back to me.I was going to pick up my girls at both their schools for Christmas break, both are about 5hrs away, and went passed a Honda dealer in Lancaster Pa and wheeled in.As soon as I stepped in the door the first bike in the row was a T with my name on it.I am part Souix indian so the custom feathers were icing on the cake.I made the deal over the phone a couple of weeks later and they kept it indoors untill I picked it up when I picked up one of my girls for spring break.I was in Lancaster where it was 50 degrees with bikes running all over and brought that thing back to 25 degrees and a snow storm. That is why the snow is stuck to my trailer in my pics. The yellow bees nest looking things are to keep the tarps from tearing up when I transport the kids to school and back.I know that you had to wonder what those were.Anyway you guys are really good at picking out what is stock and what is not. What I have is the custom paint from a guy who calls himself the scarecrow.Above the taillight is his moniker with the flag.Mine is at half mast because it was painted in October of 01.Pretty cool.I don;t know how many he painted that way that year.I have the honda back rest and pad, honda luggage rack, highway pegs, compass and clock. What is really nice is the three inch risers on the handelbars that come back a bit as well.A real nice feel.I want to get the custom world driver back rest and pad and lowers by the end of the driving weather.I hope to ride for my job at least 7k this year.I am going to Gatlinburg,TN 4/26-4/30.6 of us went down last year with 2 trucks and trailers and rode 200 miles for three days.I had the 500.This year it will be different.Riding in the Smokey mountains is fantastic. Also if you have not been to the TAIL OF THE DRAGON you have got to give that a go.Well that is it for now.See you all latter.
