Posts: 935 04/27/08 5:45 PM	Tags : None did it again. since i couldn't find a T, decided to start looking for another aero. found a beautiful '98 one owner with 10k miles today and brought it home. couldn't believe how nice the bike was. always garaged and covered and he said he was surprised he'd never rubbed through the paint as much as he kept it waxed. the intruder is just too big a bike for the kind of riding i do. they are great highway cruisers, but weigh a ton and hard to manuver around town. the turqious/cream aero i had a couple years ago was a great cruiser and also light enough to handle well in the city. so, started looking for another aero and this guy was ready to sell his. had a couple close friends killed the last few years on bikes and his wife would not ride anymore. said one of their best friends (a lady) had bought a harley dyna for her FIRST bike and went to leave a stop light and somehow popped the throttle wide open. ran it down in a ditch and back up the hill and thought she was just going to fall off it, but when she slid back off the seat the shoulder strap of her blouse caught on the tail light holding her there and the bike flipped over on her crushing her chest. what a weird accident. anyway, i'm now a two honda family (with my vintagehondamatic) and the aero....and an intruder that's now for sale. bud

Posts: 935 04/27/08 6:24 PM	thanks bob, trouble i have is making sure i have current license/registration correct.i keep the missouri treasury pretty full with all the sales tax i pay on these things! problem also is that i don't have anything to do to this bike...it is so clean. i just took the side covers off and even behind them it's clean. most bikes i've had, when you take side covers, seats, etc. off, there usually is caked dust under them, but this one is clean there too. have found a couple chromie things i want, but this bike is pretty well accessorized. it's titled as a one owner, but the story is it was the personal bike of the owner of freedom honda here in kansas city, so i'm sure he dressed it out when it was new. in fact, the guy i bought it from said the only thing he had added were the kury grips. i cruised home on it at 70-80 and it felt great. bud

Posts: 935 04/27/08 7:10 PM	i'll take you up on that bet alain....this is my keeper!!! at least for the summer, and no i'm not a dealer, i'm a "wheeler dealer" i gotta' admit i've gone a little crazy with these bikes, but i must have some female hormones in me that just doesn't let me make up my mind!!!! being an old hot rodder as i am, i'm sure you can understand that "need for speed" and the intruder 1500 surely filled that bill, but they are such a heavy bike. to be honest, i have dropped the one i have now twice(didn't hurt it), droppped the other one i had once. thing is at around 850 lbs once they start to go over just a little, it's hard to stop them. my old 64 year old muscles just ain't what they used to be! i think i'd still have the turqiouse/cream colored one i had if lillian had liked it. she's got something about turqiouse and just hated that bike. i had a '57 chevy a few years back that was white outside with a red/white interior. i had the interior re-done in turqiouse/white and she wouldn't hardly ride with me in it. gotta' please those women! she hasn't seen this one yet, but doesn't matter, 'cause i'm keeping it. if she doesn't want to ride...too bad....pssst, don't tell her i said that! bud bud

Posts: 935 04/27/08 7:40 PM	fred, they sound great. not real loud, but a nice low rumble....lot like a harley. got the original exhaust too, but can't see ever changing it out. i had read about the roadhouse exhaust before, but this is the first set i've had on a bike. bud

HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 285 04/27/08 7:58 PM Tail Gunner	Bud, If this bike didn't require any cleaning up to your standards, this must be one clean bike. I fully understand how you feel about heavy bikes which was the reason I finally sold my Goldwing. Although my Valkyrie is 150 lbs. lighter than my old Wing, it too is a heavy bike if you happen to let it lean too far when standing beside it. Once it starts going, fogetaboutit! Great find Bud, I think this is an exceptional colour combination and rather cool looking machine. John

It's certainly a beauty of a bike. Except for the vibrations, I have always liked the Aero.
