Had plans to lower the bike for my wife, who is 4'10", but due to the width of the bike and her short legs, it just won't work. We have had a blast on this bike and she hates to sell it. Bike is Black and Chrome with 22,308 miles Bike has - Mustang seat,(very comfortable)sissy bar w/back rest, luggage rack, large-capacity, 35-liter color-matched, locking hard saddlebags offer secure, weatherproof luggage space protected by chrome bars, road bars, driver and passenger floor boards, heel-toe shifter, highway pegs, windshield has adjustable gold wing air vent built in, custom turn signal / tail lights, running / spot lights, 12v outlet by windshield. I recently bought a Harley Ultra Classic and am now riding with the Ft. Lauderdale Drill Team, so even tho I love the other two, we are selling them so we can find one that is better suited to my wife.

HSATF Member Posts: 7 04/29/08 4:29 PM	We looked at several bikes while we were in Leesburg, FL (big bikefest) last weekend and at this point the easiest fit is an HD Softail Deluxe...We are still looking and hope to find something a little more cost conscience...She keeps saying that she is going to cry when the bike actually leaves the garage ....Thanks for the good wishes...

HSATF Member Posts: 22 04/30/08 1:55 AM	Have you and the Wife considered having the seat narrowed up so her legs wouldn't be spread so wide apart, it's a real simple job to do and if you can't do it your self I don't think a shop would charge that much,,,just a idea.

HSATF 2nd Officer Posts: 447 04/30/08 8:35 AM	patsand, I had a '94 vlx600, and I was MORE than able to flat foot it...my knees were bent pretty far and I felt very solid on it. We did customize the seat, and shaved some of the foam off the top, but even before doing that, I had lots of spare inches. I believe the stock seat height was 24". That 600 had plenty of get-up-and-go for around town, and was good for shorter highway hauls. She'd get a bit buzzy on the highway if I kept her at 72 MPH, so I didn't like to keep her at those speeds for more than an hour or so. ISO grips helped a lot! We then took the seat of completely and had her sit on a towel on the frame, still to wide. The biggest problem is that the side covers over the battery and the tool compartment are wider than the seat. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. She is heartbroken over selling and is looking for any options there might be.
