The town is dead. Gas, economy, weather - the businesses are suffering.

Hi All.
Sure wish I could have made it this year. I would have made it home before the new grand-daughter since she still hasn't made her entrance. It looks like they will induce labor on Sunday evening. I really miss all of you. Rodney, I think of you often whenever I see a Ghost Hunter commercial. Have you seen any flashing green lights lately?? Clay and April... What can I say. I'm glad you made it there. Sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I'm glad you were able to be there with him. I missed all you other clowns too. What happened with Lori?? Did anyone talk to her or go visit?? I broke down and bought an enclosed trailer. It was already set up for two bikes. I'll be spending the next few months working about 125 miles from home and wanted to be able to take the scoot. So, I may be willing to consider hauling a couple of bikes to some gathering in the future if someone in the area is interested. Talk to y'all later. Ride safe. Putz |

Putz,
Good to hear you're alive and kicking. Better watch out for that grandkid stuff. Next thing you know, you'll be haulin' band equipment in 14 years.
Hope you can get free for the fall rally. I'm going to try my hardest to get there, either on two or four wheels. Andy |

Hello Putz....how are you my friend? I have been trying to send you an email and they keep coming back to me as not deliverable. I have sent you phone text
messages and I don't know if your getting them because I have not heard back from you. Im coming to Detroit on June 5-6-7 and thought that you and I could
get together. Please send me an email so that I can reply and we can see if we can get together.
It looks like the kids did not waste anytime starting a family. You're going to make a great grandpa and look at all the free babysitting your daughters can provide. Hey remember two years ago this week the three of us stood for this picture. And then exactly one year later Lou was gone. It was one year ago this week that Lou crossed over. I hear from Lori almost every week. Her life is moving forward and her Photography business is improving. Diane has told me that she may be coming to visit us again this year. Good deal on getting the trailer. Maybe you can use it and meet us all in Clarksburg, WV for the 6th Annual T Rally in September.

I have not heard much about Eureka Springs this time. How did it go, who showed up, pictures? Did I miss something?

Not much to share. I know that I put about 1,000 miles on the bike in the Ozarks and totally enjoyed my visit to ES. Rod and Larry showed up for a couple days
(one night). I kept looking for Tourers on the streets, but failing that, just went riding. The weather was poor, the economy has definetly hurt the area, the
cost of gas, and recent flooding in the area all added up to a non-event. Larry took a few pictures.

The news of this years event is sad, but not totally unexpected. The problem of course is the time of year that this event falls on. I completely understand
why the Sumpter's schedule the event for this time of year, but I'm afraid that if the HSATF forum membership want to experience a successful event it
will have to be another time of year. But then things get busy and more expensive and requires a bit more planning.

Hey guys,
The rally was a disapointment this year. I'm sure the economy and weather had a impact on travelers. Probably the weather more so than gas prices. Hey 40 to 45 miles to the gallon ain't bad.
I've been thinking about all the comments about the time of my rally. What if we had a rally later in the year just for T's (or forum posters). Suggest dates and I'll check to see if any other events will conflict. I know there will be no perfect date but we will do the best we can. Ride Safe Bryan Sumpter

Bryan Sumpter wrote: Hello Bryan.....as I said before it was sad to learn of the poor turnout for this years event. Your offering to consider another time of year for a T rally is good news. The fact that this is a motorcycle event and weather is the key element, makes the change to another time of year a more viable planning option for many of us. If I may suggest....could you please tell us what times of the year would be best for us to avoid because of your busy tourist schedule. No sense starting out on a negative note by us suggesting a time only to have you reject it as an impractical time. As a past participant I want to thank you for offering to consider a new date for your event. Your a great host and you have a great establishment. I would love to make this event again in the future and the possibility of a new time of year would make it possible for me again.

Hi Guys, I am sorry that I have not been able to get in here as much as I would like to but here I am LOL. I know that we did not have a lot of riders show up
for the rally but I think it turned out great. Speaking of great, I hate that we missed you Scott becuase we had some great riding. Someone said that you were
camped somewhere close but I missed Ya.
We had a great ride Saturday. We started the day with Dan and Marsha and April and I going down to war eagle for breakfast. We took my truck so we could all spend time visiting before getting on the bikes. When we got back to the Inn, we hooked up with Bryan and his Dad and headed out for a great ride. We rode over to Cycle Gadgets 1st as they were having an open house with live music and BBQ. There was probably 75 - 100 bikes of all makes and models there. OF course we had to try the BBQ (especially since it was free). After leaving there we headed up to MO. for some BEAUTIFUL riding. We rode up North of Branson and then back down to Berryville and back to Eureka. It was a great ride with great friends. When we headed home Sunday morning we all said our goodbyes with hugs and maybe just a few tears know that it would be a while before we saw each other again. April and I headed home on the famous Arkansas "Pig Trail" highway 23. After driving down it for awhile we turned off and headed down gravel roads for the next couple of hours. What should have been a 4 - 4.5 hour trip turned into 9 hours. We saw some beautiful country with wonderful vistas. We also dug some ozark violets to plant in the yard and also a nice little redbud tree. To say the least we had a wonderful time and are looking forward to the next one. Just my 2 cents but I think the ride would be best either the week before Memorial day or even the week after Memorial day. Ride safe, UC

Clay....it reads like the few of you that were at Eureka Springs this year did manage to have a good time. Did you get to see Rod (ezrod) and Larry? It's
too bad that you missed hooking up with Scott. How did that happen?
I'm excited at the prospect that the next event might be scheduled at a different time of the year. Of course trying to schedule anything with a large number of people in mind is a daunting experience. But my feelings are that if you can improve on the weather factor of this event it will spell success. Trust that you feeling well and that married life is still on its honeymoon. By the way hows the bike? No mention from you about how much you're enjoying the ride. How are Dan and Marsha doing. We don't hear from Dan anymore and I sure miss his banter. Take care brother

Is that what you call that "stuff" that Dan spews?? Banter... interesting concept. And all this time I thought a banter was a chicken. I guess I was
right.
Hi Dan. Hi Clay. Sure wish I could have made the ES trip this year. I really enjoyed getting to meet you and April. I have been looking forward to our next meeting since our last. Please pass along a howdy from the Putz. As for dates, I don't have a preference. I'll ride in the rain. I won't melt. It will be hit or miss no matter when it is held. I guess I wouldn't mind riding that beautiful country in warm weather. I think all you that want it changed just don't want to endure being called wimps and pu$$y's by the ones that are pulling out in the rain while you stand under the eaves and wish you were brave enough to join in. Alain, how will either of us ever forget that picture. I miss Brother Lou and his biting, opinionated sarcasm. He was my kind of man and it was one of my pleasures in life to have had the privledge to spend a little time with him. The fact that you were there too, my friend, just makes it all the better. Say hi to Diane and have her pass along a howdy to Lori too. Ride safe. Putz

I think Wednesday thur Sunday. That way those who have to drive a long ways will not get there on Friday, take one ride on Saturday then have to leave on
Sunday. Those that can come in early can and those that only get to stay 2 or 3 days can as well.
