I'm having some trouble with my first Tourer; just picked it up this weekend. Amazingly only 5k miles on the the
10 year old bike but still have an issue with the throttle. Whether I'm accelerating (or revving sitting still) from a stop, or just cruising around near
1/4 throttle...the engine hesitates or stumbles. If I give it more gas it willl speed up and pretty much smooth out. Put new gas (91 oct) in it since I bought
it with no better results.Haven't torn into it yet and would rather not myself...but are there any real common issues with this year/model that I might be
able to look at?
Ideas:
- Choke sticking?
- Dirty fuel filter (wouldn't this affect all speed ranges?)
- Dirty carb (same as above?)
- Fould/faulty plugs?
- Carbs not synched?
I had HOPED I wouldn't have any issues with a bike with so few miles but for the deal I got on it I'm tempted to just take it to the dealer and have
the pros look at it.
Thanks,
Evan
