Cloverfield - Don't waste your money! |

My daughter talked me into going to see Cloverfield last night. I like sci-fi, so I figured - what the hell - let me check out the reviews - they're
okay....alright, I'll go see it. What a waste of money and time. The entire film was shot with a hand-held camera. The camera shake was horrific. The
camera only held still three times during the entire movie; first, for about four seconds when the operator fell down, second for about seven seconds when the
operator set it down to assist someone climbing over debree, and third, when it hit the ground and layed there for about ten seconds until the friend picked it
up after the monster ate the operator. I guess the plot was okay - monster eats New York (I'm a hopeless romantic), but I didn't even like the acting.
If there are only two movies playing at your theater, and Cloverfield is one of them, I recommend that you go see the other one. Just my 2cents.

Gary....I heard about how awful this movie was all the shaking of the camera. Two women in my office said that they had to leave because of feeling too
nauseous to watch any longer. Me I don't care for this type of movie and I don't care for movies that brutalize women. Where in the world does this
come off as entertainment? Just my two cents worth.

Sounds like another Blair Witch movie.

I was smart enough not to pay to go see Blair Witch. I did see a little of it when it came on TV. Cloverfield and Blair Witch may have had the same type of
filming, but Cloverfield at least spent some money on special effects. Blair Witch was just a couple of kids shooting out in the woods. Had Cloverfield been
done with more traditional filming, it might not have been all that bad. As is - it sucked.

I went to see it with my oldest son. We loved it. It's a bit different. Very well thought out. Very well put together, for it's intended purpose. Each
to his own, I guess.
The wife and I went to see Bucket List. Great movie!!! -Dan

This movie sure did not live up to the hype. I thought it was poorly done and the behind the camera point of view sucked. I'm glad I didn't pay to see
it. Almost wasn't worth the dvd it cost me to copy the bootleg.

movie started.
also rented "there will be blood" on the same night and thought it was pretty good. not a sci-fi movie, but about oil being discovered in south texas at the turn of the centruy. bud |

I finally got around to watching Cloverfield a few weeks ago. Once was more than enough.
