Newbie wanting to thank everyone here! |

I got a frantic email from my cousin in Atlanta saying his 98 ACE Tourer had died and wouldn't charge the battery. He had lost his job due to layoffs and
his car was overheating. The bike was his main transportation. After a few hours on this forum I had a good idea what to look for. The white connector for the
stator wires had melted into a large glob of goo. We cut the wires and soldered them back together, a fix I had read about here. He is up and running again!
And yes, we also got the car going. Thanks to all who share their knowledge. You really helped someone when they needed it the most.

Thank you for your compliment. It sounds like you are quite a good samaritan also. Are you also a Tourer owner/rider? Anyone as considerate as you is welcome here on the forum. Please tell us more about yourself.

I ride a 2005 Honda 1300 VTX "C" and generally lurk on vtxoa.com. I live in Rome, Georgia; my cousin, Warner lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia. I was
out of riding for long time waiting for the kids to go out on their own. When I bought the bike Warner was there helping me get started again. He rides long
distance like out to Oklahoma on the Cherrokee Trail of Tears ride. So, He took me up to the Dragon in North Carolina and Tennessee and ever since I have been
on the bike doing something or going somewhere. It was just time for a little well deserved payback. If anyone is interested go to Photoreflect.com and look
at the pictures by Warner Hyde. He is the giant elf on the Santa ride. Again, thanks.

Speak of the Devil and soon he appears. First let me say I originally came here to say "Thank you" to everyone. Hopefully I did not offend by my choice of screen name. I tried to log in using my usual name but it was already taken. My Mother and I had been joking about my nickname earlier in the day and I simply used it . MyMomacallsmeLucifer refers to a time when I was a toddler. This explanation is the true. Places and names may have been changed to protect the innocent and to put me in a better light. My Mother was the "Perfect" fifties wife and mother. There was never a dirty dish in the house, the floors were always spotless,
and babies were dressed in white and always smelled of baby powder. My older brother was the perfect baby. He never got dirty and always did as he was told.
Then I was born. I got into everything . And if I could make a mess, then the bigger; the better. Mud puddles were my private playground. Grass stains were
badges of Honor. If I made a mess in my pants, I wanted to show everyone. It was on me, the floor, the walls, everywhere. She started calling me "you
little devil." Then I learned to walk and talk. Soon all Hell broke loose. We lived in a duplex with an older couple next door. Mom tells a story where
she cut a switch to spank me. Ralph, the older guy next door, went out and cut down every bush to keep me from getting switched. She said I called him Ralphy
and would run to him whenever I got in trouble hollering , get me Ralphy, get me! He refused to let her spank me. She starts calling me Lucifer. Says she could
look me in the eye and know when I was about to get into trouble. And it didn't matter if I knew I was going to get into trouble. If I wanted to do it, I
would do it anyway. Now having a baby named Lucifer didn't fit the perfect fifties housewife mother image. And there was a tv show called I Love Lucy.
Ya'll remember, black and white, Desi Arnes and Lucille Ball, yeah, ya'll remember. I have never doubted my Mother loved me. She starts calling me
Lucy. It sounded better in public and it reminded her that she loved me. I think she needed the reminders. I have been Lucy ever since. Fast forward about 50
years and my Mom greets me with ,"How ya doing , Lucy?" I recently gave her a mother's day card that said," I know when we were growing up
we were hard to handle…" On the inside it said," but it was always the other kids that caused the problems!" I signed it "Lucy"

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply, spent a little time in Margaritaville and then pulled a week of third shifts. God, I love third shift. If there is
anything that makes you realize how much you love your time off more than third shift, I don't know what it is. Anyway, Kcroadrocket wanted to know if I
was a male or female which is kinda strange since I've never been asked that before but I digress. Just a second and I'll look... Ok, the hammer is
still hanging. I'm sorta like an old carpenter. I don't get as much work as I once did but I think I'll keep my tools. Even built a shed over
'em to keep 'em dry. A lot of time and effort was put into building that shed. It is sad now because the local witch doctor wants me to tear it down.
Something about keeping blood pumping to my brain... I use it, the brain, almost as infrequently as my other tools so why bother? BTW when I first read
"kcroadrocket" it registered in my brain as "cock roach toad sprocket." I mean no offense. It is simply the voices in my head having fun
with me again. Originally, I came here to say Thank You for your knowledge. I checked tonight and his bike is still running. I was afraid the surgery I did
might have caused it to burn to the ground. So far, so good.
Red Skelton always closed his show with I hope I have not offended anyone tonight and if I have I was only trying to make you laugh. May God Bless. Good Night. |

Hey Lucy.
I wonder if the voices that live in your head have been talking to the voices that live in mine?? It sounds like they have some very similar conversations. The main problem I found, is that some of the "others" don't seem to care for some of the other "others". That and they don't have the same friends. Ride safe. Putz |
