Well, "windows live local" is news to me. Thanks for the link, Tony. Cool stuff! I took it for a test run, and actually found the little dumpy gas
station out in the boonies where we stop to pick Fairy Stones, which was a shock. I did figure out that when you reposition the map, the new items sometimes
don't show up, so I just typed in "gas station" after sliding the map, and they appear. Zooming in certainly does give you more to choose from.

I was playing with the website some more last evening and I too found that when you zoom in to an area, you have to give the details a chance to populate on
the screen. Kinda cool website actually. Who Knew?
Dawn thank you for the invite. Unfortunately that would be quite an extension to my trip. It looks like you are about as far from Clarksburg as I am, give or take a few miles.

capacity.

tonythecarguy wrote: Tony....I've been playing around with this Windows Live Local thing you put on here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I make the selection "gas stations" if only finds the stations that are dead center on my monitor? I find that if I want to local more gas stations in a particular area, I have to center that area on my monitors screen and then more selections pop up. I tried planting my cursor around the screen but the gas station locations stay with the center position of the screen and not where I plant my cursor. Is this right or am I doing something wrong? What I'm doing seems to work fine, but I am anal about such things.

What a great planning tool this is. I also like using google maps to give me driving directions and then change those directions by dragging and dropping the old route to a new route. Then google fills in the rest and recalculates the driving distance and times. Then you can switch to a satellite view or a topo map.

Google maps will do a similar search but you have to hit search every time you move the map. I like the map data a bit better in Google plus I haven't
found the ability to save routes for others and muti stop routes in Windows live local it might be in there but I know google can do it. Windows live local
will give you satellite view and bird view too. I started using the Windows live local because it integrates into the Microsoft Map-Point and Outlook (you can
send instructions/map with a calendar meeting) which I already was using.

Actually, Terry nor I committed to cabins. My last post clearly stated either is fine with us. We will go along with the group consensus. However, we are
not voting either way. We prefer to allow the rest to decide and we will fall in wherever you all land.
We are entirely too easy to please. Brian |

Alepel,
Who knew you'd get in so much trouble with this list, I'm with Fred, and Brian
& Terry, I'm totally cool with either. It seems like we are getting a consensus; a few Clarksburg motels and a few don't cares. Sounds like we
need to pick a hotel in Clarksburg. Tony |
